In the name of God Amen the Sixteenth day of November in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand sixe hundred and eighteene
I William Carlton of the Parrishe of Litle Hards in the County of Kent Yeoman being weake in body and of good and perfect memory, thanks bee to Almighty God for the same, doe make and ordeine this my last will and testament in manner and Forme following (that is to say)
First and principally I Comend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God trustinge through his mercy and by the pretious death of my Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to bee saved, and to inheritt the kingdom of heaven for ever

And I make my two sonnes Steven Carlton and Richard Carlton executors of this my last will and testament
Inprimis I will that my Executors afforesaid doe pay to my wife the full some of Four pounds to bee paid w[i]thin twelve monthes after my decease
Item I will to her five pounds more to be paid wthin twelve monthes after my decease

Item I give to my sonne William Carlton five pounds to be paid wthin twelve monthes after my decease
and to my Grandchild, William Carlton his sonne five pounds to bee paid at the age of fowertene yeares
Item I give to my daughter Katherine Hatcher ten pounds, Conditionally that shee make my executors a generall discharge of all debts and writings betweene me and her

Item I will to my sonne in lawe Robert Stringer the sume of ten pounds w[hi]ch I promised him at the day of his marriage to bee paid, at my decease;
Item I give to my sonne in law Thomas Kingsford twenty shillings to bee paid after my decease
Item I give to my sonne in law Richard Kingsford five pounds to bee paid wthin a yeere after my decease
Item I give to my daughter Margareet Kingsford five pounds to bee paid wthin twelve monthes after my decease

Item I appoint Thomas Hatcher to bee overseer of this my last will and testament and I give the same Thomas Hatcher twenty shillings and a joyned bedstead wth stands in the Chamber over my loading place

Item I give to my executors above written, to their heires executors and administrators, all my goods and chattells to bee equally devided my debts and legaces being paid
