Inprimis I give unto my eldest sonne Richard Carlton threescore and ten pounds to be paid unto him at his full age of sixteene

Item I give unto my daughter Albee Fourty pounds to bee paide unto her by mine executors at the day of her marriage or at the
full age of sixteene yeeres, w[hi]ch shall happen first
Item If it happen that my wife bee w[i]th child, and that it please God shee at her delivery shall have a boy, my will is that hee? have Fiftie pounds; and if a maid Fourty pounds to bee paid at his or her day of marriage or at his of her full age of sixteene yeeres by mine executors
And if it shall happen that any of those my Children shall departe this naturall life before the tymes wherein theis legacies shall bee due unto them my will is that the porcon of the decea[se]d shall bee equally devided amongst the Survivours
Item I give unto William Stringer, Steven Stringer, Anne Stringer and Dorothy Stringer sonnes and daughters of Robert Stringer of Staple my Brother in law each of them five shillings a peece wthin two yeares after my decease to bee paid to them by mine executors
And if it shall please God to call all mine owne aforenamed (children) unto his mercie and of this natural life before the tymes wherein their Legacies given them are to bee paid my will then is that Threescore pounds of my children’s porcons before given and bequeathed shall bee paid unto William, Steven, Anne and Dorothy Stringer afforesaid by mine executors
All the rest of my Goods, moveablles and unmoveablles, chattells and howsholde stuffe I give unto Elizabeth my Wife, whom I
name and appoint sole executrix of this my last will and testament
And if it shall please God to call her out of this naturall life (being now at this instance very sicke) before me, then my will is that
my brother Robert Stringer of Staple afforesaid shall be sole executor of this my last will and testament
And if it shall happen that my wife Elizabeth doe marry, my will is that the porcon of my Goods before bequeathed shall be put into the hands of my Brother in law Robert Stringer afforesaid till my said sonnes come to their severall ages of sixteene yeeres; wth this provisoe that my said Brother Robert Stringer shall put in bond or other sufficient securitie both for the payment of the said portions to my said sonnes and likewise that hee shall put in like sufficient securitie to my wife for the payment of the use and interest, profit and benefit of the said my sonnes porcons towards their educacon and bringing up of all my Children will? there severall tymes of payment of their porcons shall come, shee being allowed therefore the proffit and benefitt of their severall porcons
Also I give unto the poore of the p[ar]ishe of litle Hardres tenne shillings to bee paid by mine executrix wthin two monthes after
my decease
And if it shall happen that all of my Children shall depart this naturall life before the tymes wherein
their porcons ought to bee paid, then my will is that my executrix or executor or their assignes
shall pay and give unto the poor of the p'ishe of Litle Hardres ten pounds
Item I give and Bequeath unto Anne Goyffe my Goddaughter of Crosman Bleand in St. Jamy, six shillings and eight pence to bee paid by mine executors wthin two yeares next after my decease
My will is furthermore that if it shall happen that my wife depart this life before the probate of this will, and that my Brother Robert Stringer bee executor, that he shall have only Forty shillings of theis my Goods, Chattells and household stuffe and the rest to bee equally devided amongst my Children
This is the last will and testament of mee the said Richard Carlton had and made
