In the name of God Amen the second day of May 1627
I Henry Carpenter of the p[ar]ish of Ickham in the County of Kent, Bricklayer, though weake of body, yet of p[er]fect good remembrance (the Lord be praysed) do make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner & former followinge
First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Allmightie God my self by the death & resurrection of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full p[ar]don & forgivenes of all my sinnes and my body to be buried in the church yard of the parish of Ickham aforesaid at the discretion of my executor, and as for my worldly goods I give them as followeth

Inprimis I will & bequeath unto Henry Colyer the sonne of John Colyer of Ickham aforesaid one standinge bedstedle with rope & mall, one fetherbed, one paire of sheets, one blankett & one covrlett with bedstedle & all other thinges p[er]teynninge unto it as it is in the Chamber where I dwell or s.ivrue?

Item I give unto John Colyer my sonne in lawe one presse Cubbord & one table & forme which is standinge in the hall and one kettle & one brasse pott one pewter platter & one pewter dish and one brassen chaffinge dishe & one kneadinge trough w[hi]ch is standinge in the Chamber aforesaide & one Quorne withall thinges p'teynninge unto it and one paire of Cobyrons [Cobirons] withall my workeinge tooles & budders & one pitt and one beere barrell with a stabl dye p'teyninge unto it

Item I give unto Elisabeth Colyer the daughter of John Colyer one wicker Chayer and the best Cheste of the Chests w'ch I have
Item I give & bequeath unto all the Children w'ch are now borne unto? John Colyer my sonne in lawe Tenn shillinges a peece to be bestowed & layd out in the behalf of those children and to their use in buyinge of sheepe for them at the discretion of their father
And the proffitts & benefitts each shall come by them to redowne and to be to the use of the said children of the before said John Colyer
And my will is that their father shall lay it owt for them within five monthes after my decease

And my will is that each of these Children shall knowe their owne sheepe by severall marks soe soone as they shall be able for to difference their marks by their owne knowledge or otherwise to be at their fathers discretion and at my overseers

Item I give & bequeath unto Elizabeth Overy my daughter the wife of Thomas Overy of Litleborne Tenn shillinges of lawfull English money to be paid unto Thomas Overy by my executor within two moneths after my decease and the said Thomas Overy to make my executor an acquittance in the receipt and for the dischardge heereof
Item I give unto Elizabeth Overy the daughter of Thomas Overy one chest & one small pewter dishe

Item I give & bequeath unto each of the Children w'ch are now borne unto Thomas Overy my sonne in lawe Tenne shillinges apeece to be paid unto them or unto their father in their behalf within foure moneths after my decease by my executor and the said Thomas Overy to give an acquittance unto my executor for the dischardge of the same at the receipt thereof

Item I give & bequeath all the rest of my moveable goods not all ready given not bequeathed as after my legacies be paid and the probat of this my will is paid & executed and my funerall expences dischardged unto John Collyer my sonne in lawe whome I make & ordeyne to be my full & whole executor of this my last will & testament

And I doe further make & appoint Richard Cullinge of Ickham aforesaid to be my overseer of this my will and for to see those legacies distributed as I have formerly bequeathed them And I do appoint for his paines xviijd [18d]

In witnes whereof that this is my last will and Testament & revokinge all former wills that I have ever heeretofore made I have heereunto sett my hand & seale dated the day & yeere unto first above written
