In the Name of God Amen I John Chaplen of the parish of Maidstone in the County of Kent being infirm and week in body but of sound mind and Memory do will and appoint Ann Hurt the wife of Tho Hurt in the parish of Maidstone in the County of Kent Bargman do will and appoint to be whole and sole Executor and Executor of this my last Will and Testament and do will and impower her to call in all the money I have owing me upon Bills and to pay all the debts I owe

and when all the debts are paid and Funeral charges are paid I will and appoint that all my ready money be equally divided between Tho: Chaplen of the parish of Maidstone in the County of Kent and Ann Hurt aforesaid and Margaret Osborn the wife of George Osborn in the parish of Maidston in the County of Kent

I further give and bequeath to Ann Hurt aforesaid all my wareing apparel both linnen and woollen to be disposed of as she shall think proper

I further give to Jos Durran my Master and Judith Durran his wife each of them a Mourning Ring in Remembrance of me

I also give to Will: Seal and Mary his wife each of them a Mourning Ring in Remembrance of me

Signed seal published and declared by the Testator his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request have set our names as Witnesses hereto

This Will was proved at London before the Worshipful Robert Chapman Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully Constituted the seventeenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty eight by the Oath of Ann Hurt (wife of Thomas Hurt) the sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattells and Creditts of the said deceased being first sworn duly to administer.
