Will of Robert Chaplin

of Maidstone, Kent

I devise and bequeath all my real and personal Estate and appoint all the real and personal estate over which I have any power of appointment unto my dear wife Philadelphia absolutely but as to estates vested in me on trust or by way of mortgage subject to the equities affecting the same respectively and I appoint my said wife sole Executrix of this my will hereby revoking all other wills

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight Robert Chaplin _ Signed sealed and published by the said Robert Chaplin as and to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses_

Proved at London 24 Feb'y 1854 before the worshipful Thomas Spinks Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the oath of Philadelphia Chaplin widow the relict the sole executrix to whom admon was granted having been first sworn duly to administer.
