Item I give unto my sonne Richard that my house and ground now in the occupation of John Clarke of Smarden to him and his heirs forever, to enter upon it when he comes to the age of 21 years
Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth my other house and Orchard now in the occupation of John Gyles to her and her heirs forever, to enter upon it at the day of marriage or at the age of one and twenty yeares
Item I doe ordaine and make my wife my sole Executrix of this my will, and doe Committ my children to her tuition
The abovesaid pt of this will was read published and declared unto the said Charles
Chittenden and approved of by him in the presence of us

March 7 1657 The abovesaid Charles Chittenden gave those further instructions concerning his will which were not then committed to writeinge but deferred to the next day before which time he dyed
Imprimis that if one of his children did dye, then the other should inheritt the portion of
that that dyed.
Item and if both dye then his wife Katherine should have all the lands dureing her life
These further instructions were given also in the presence of us

This Will Nuncupative and Codicill was proved at London before the Judges for probate of wills and granting Administration the Thirteenth day of January in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred and fifty eight By the oath of Katherine Chittenden sole Executrix named in the said Will To whom was committed Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattells and debts of the said deceased She being first sworne by Commission well and truly to Administer.
