In the Name of God Amen the xijth [12th] day of May In ye yere of our Lord God one thousand v hundrethe three skore and two [1562]
I Jhon Christen of the p[ar]ishe of Gooneston beynge of p[er]fect Remembrannce but syck of bodye do make my testament and last Wyll on thes
wyse folowynge
Fyrst I bequethe my soule to Almyghtye God, and my bodye to be buryed in Goodneston Churche yard aforesayd
Item I do geve all the resydewe of my movable goods to Margret my wyfe, after she hathe fullye
contented & payd all my debts, legaces and other Costs & charges
And I make & ordayne by thes prsent wyll & testament Margaret my wyfe to be sole Executrix
the wytnes of th[i]s prsents: Anthony Rogers, Clarke and Willm Apleten and others
Probatum fuit: 27th May 1562
Note: John Christen, Householder was buried 15th May 1562 at Holy Cross, Goodnestone-next-Wingham.
