In the Name of God Amen I Israel Cladinbold of the Town and Borough of Deal in the County of Kent, Carpenter, being mindful of my Mortality Do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in Manner and Form following (that is to say)

First I Give and Bequeath All That my Tenement or Dwelling House and the Outhouses Buildings Yard and Backside thereunto belonging with their and every of their Appurtenances situate lying and being in the Lower street in Deal aforesaid which I hold by Lease from and under his Grace the Arch Bishop of Canterbury and now in my own Occupation And all the Estate Right Title Interest and Term of years which I now have or shall or may have therein at the Time of my Decease with the Lease thereof which shall be then subsisting unto my Loving Wife Elizabeth Cladinbold and her Assigns for and during the Term of her natural Life she keeping the same in good and tenantable Repair

And from and immediately after her Decease I Give and Bequeath the .... [paper fold obliterates half a line]
... Daughters Elizabeth Cladinbold and Sarah Cladinbold both of Deal aforesaid Spinsters equally to be divided between them Share and Share alike and they to take as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants and to their several and respective Executors, Administrators and Assigns

charged and chargeable nevertheless with and subject and liable to the Payment of the two following Legacies which I do hereby order and direct shall be raised levied and paid by and out of my said Leasehold Premises (that is to say)
The Sum of Five Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain which I Give and Bequeath unto my Grandson James Cladinbold (Son of my late Son James Cladinbold deceased)
and the further Sum of Five Pounds of like lawful Money which I Give and Bequeath unto my Grand daughter Mary Cladinbold (daughter of my said late Son James Cladinbold deceased)
to be paid to them my said Grand Children respectively within Three Months next after the Decease of my said Wife

And my Mind and Will is that the Receipt or Receipts of them my said Grand Children or either of them for their said respective Legacies shall be a good and sufficient Discharge to the Person or Persons paying the same and my said Leasehold Premises notwithstanding they my said Grand Children or either of them shall not have attained to the Age of One and Twenty Years at the Time the said Legacies shall become payable as aforesaid

Also my Mind and Will is that as often as there shall be Occasion to renew the Lease of the said Premises during the Life Time of my said Wife the same shall be In Trust for her my said Wife for her Life and after Decease to and for the only use and Benefit of my said two Daughters in Manner and chargeable as aforesaid and that the Charges and Expences of all such Renewals shall be born and paid by my said Wife

And as to all the Rest and Residue of my Goods, Chattels, Effects, debts due and owing to me, Money, Securities for Money and all other my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what Kind or Nature soever the same may be at the Time of my Decease not hereinbefore by me otherwise disposed of (my Debts and Funeral Expences being thereout first paid and satisfied) I Give and Bequeath the same and every Part thereof unto my said Wife Elizabeth Cladinbold to and for her own Use and Benefit

And I make constitute and appoint my said Wife Elizabeth Cladinbold full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament And Lastly I revoke all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I the said Israel Cladinbold have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two Sheets of Paper affixed together to the first Sheet thereof set my hand and to this second and last Sheet thereof my Hand and Seal the Seventh Day of September in the Fifth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith &c. and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Five

Notes:
Israel Claringbould was buried at St. Leonard, Deal, Kent on 17 Nov 1765. He was also entered in the register for St. George, Deal – which was a chapel of St. Leonard's.
Israel Claringbole was baptised 11 Aug 1689, s. of Israel and Anne, at St. Leonard's.
Israel Cladingbold, bachelor and Elizabeth Hutchins, maiden, both of Deal, were married on 24 Oct 1740 at St. Andrew, Canterbury, Kent.
