In the name of God Amen the twenteth daye of January in the Nyne and thirteth yere of the Reigne of our Sovreigne Lady Queene Elizabeth
I Thomas Cloocke of Elmsted being sick in body but of good and p[er]fect memory doe make this my last will and Testament in mannr and forme followinge
Fyrst I will my Soule to almightie God thorow [through] the death and passion of Jesus Christ my redeemer hopinge thereby to have remission of all my sinnes my body to be buryed at the discretion of myne Executor

Item I will to Joane my wyfe all her wearing apparrell and my best bed in the parlor wthall the furnyture there unto belonginge
The reasydue of all my moveable goods I will to be sould to the best advantage for the payments of my debts wth the consent of myne overseers of this my last Will and Testament

I doe ordeyne and make Joane my wyffe my sole Executrix and Daniell Clooke my brother and Thomas Bett my Nephewe overseers

This is the last will and testament of me the aforesaid Thomas Clooke concerninge the disposition of all my Lands

Fyrst I will that Joane my wyffe shall have my house and all my Lands lyinge in Elmsted and Waltham or ells where in the countie of Kent for (the) terme of her naturall lyffe she payinge out thereof yerely duringe the said terme Tenn pounds towards the dischadginge of my Legacies here after sett downe wch are the followinge

First I will to Christopher my sonne Threescore and Tenn pounds
Item I will to Edward my sonne Threescore pounds
Item I will to Thomas my sonne Threescore pounds
– all wch sonnes to be payde in mannr Followinge
the first yere after my decease to Christopher ten pounds The second yere to Edward Ten pounds The third yere to Christopher Ten pounds more the fourth yere to Edward Tenn pounds more And so after this order tyll they twoe be fully payde
Item I will Thomas my sonne by payde the full some of Threescore pounds when he shall accomplish the age of Twentie and syxe yeres
And yf it happen any of my sonnes to dye wthout heire of his body my Will is that the Survyvors of them shall have the porcon or porcons of him or them deceased

Item I will to Sara my daughter Thyrtie pounds to be payde her at the daye of her marriage or wthin halfe a yere after Twentie pounds the other Tenn pounds wthin halfe a yere after the first payment
Item I will Margaret my daughter Thirty pounds to be payde her twenty pounds of it at the daye of her marriage or wthin halfe a yere after the other tenn pounds to be payde wthin halfe a yere after the first payment
And yf it happen that any of my said daughters to dye my will is the survyvor of them to have the porcon willed unto her deceased
And yf it happen any or both of my daughters to marrye before my sonnes porcons be payde Then my will is the payment of my sonnes before spoken of to staye or cease tyll such tyme as her or theire porcons so marryed be fully payd

Now as concerninge the Inheritance of my Lands before mencoined
I will it to John Clooke my sonne and to the heires males of his body Lawfully begotten after the decease of Joane my Wyffe he payinge out thereof Twenty pounds yerely, towards the payment of my legacies yf any shalbe then unpayde at the tyme of her death in such sort as is in my will before sett downe And yf my said sonne John Refuse to paye any Legacie then unpayde accordinge to my Will Then my Will is hee to lose the benefitt of this my Will

And yf it happen John my sonne to dye wthout heire male of his bodye lawfully begotten Then I will it to Edward my sonne and to the heires males of his body Lawfully begotten, hee payinge such Legacies as John my sonne should have done yf he had lyved yf he Refuse to pay any Legacie then unpayde accordinge to my Will Then my Will is he to lose the benefitt of my Will

And yf it happen Edward my sonne to dye wthout heire male of his body Lawfully begotten Then I will it to Thomas my sonne and to the heires males of his body Lawfully begotten hee payinge such legacies as Edward my sonne should have donne yf he had Lyved And yf he Refuse to pay any Legacie then unpayde accordinge to my Will Then my Will is he to lose the benefitt of my Will

And yf it happen Thomas my sonne to dye wthout heires male of his body Lawfully begotten Then I will it to Christopher my sonne and to his heires forevr hee payinge such Legacies as Thomas my sonne should have donne yf he had lyved And yf he refuse to paye any of my legacies then unpayde according to my Will Then my Will is my twoe daughters or the Survyvor of them to enter uppon it and have it to them and theire heires forever
