In the name of god amen The tenth day of August in the yeare of our Lord Kinge James by the grace of God Kinge of England Scotland France and Ireland Defender of the fayth, that is to say of England, France and Ireland the twenty and one and of Scotland the seaven and fifty and in the yeare of our Lorde herewith 1624
I Daniel Cocke of Sturrey in the County of Kent Yeoman beinge sicke in body but of good and perfect memorye God bee thanked therefore make this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge
First I bequeath my Soule to God who gave itmee trustinge in yis might of Jesus Christ to bee saved and by noe other meanes and my body to bee buried in the parishe of Sturry aforesayd by the discretion of my executrix hereafter named

Concerninge my goods and moveables I give unto Joanne Cocke my nowe lovinge wife duringe her naturall life and after her departure out of this transitory world I give them to my Children vizt. my two sonnes Thomas and John Cocke my debtes and Legacies and funerall expenses beinge first paid and discharged by my executrix

Item I give unto Richard Staine the sonne of William Staine of Stury Weaver the sume of three pounds of good and lawful mony of England to bee payd unto him at his age of one and twenty yeares by my executrix if shee live soe longe, or else by my sonnes Thomas and John yf they live soe longe or else be payd to the sayd Richard Staine out of my lands in Westbeere in the sayd County

Item I give unto Elizabeth Staine the daughter of the foresayd Mr. Staine the sume of fifty shillings of like lawfull money of England to bee payd unto her at the age of one and twenty yeares yf shee lyve soe longe to be payd unto her as abovesayd

Concerninnge my houses and lands in Sturrey and Westbeere in the sayd County I give unto Joane my nowe loveing wife dureinge her naturall life keping them in Reparations with impechment of wast and yf my debtes and legacies will not bee payd with the sale of my goods and chattells then my will and meaninge is that shee thys sayd Joane my wife doe morgage or lease out my lands and houses untill they bee payd, and further concerninge my houses in Sturrey I give unto Mary my daughter the wife of William Staine abovesayd for her naturall lie the house which she nowe dwelleth

Item I give unto my sonne Thomas Cocke of Sturrey Weaver the house where Henry Rumfeild Taylor now dwelleth after my wives decease my debtes and legacies beinge first payd, to the sayd Thomas and his heires of his body lawfully begotten and or default of the heires of the sayd Thomas to my sonne John Cocke and the heires of his body lawfully begotten and for default of such heires to heires of the said Daniell Cocke the testator for ever

I give unto the sayd Thomas the house or Tenement with the appurtenances which John Young and Robert Dacones dwellth to him and his heires as abovesayd

Item I give unto my sonne John Cocke my house where I now dwelll and the house where William Staines now dwelleth to him and his heires of his body lawfully begotten after my wives decease and after his Sister Staines decease with the limitations as in my sonne Thomas his Legacies

Item I give to my Brother in Lawe William Freeman and his now wife the house and iiij perches of land as nowe hee xseth [expect?] to him and his wife dureinge their lives

Item I give my three acres of land in Westbeere in the County of Kent to my two sonnes Thomas and John Cocke and to the heires of their bodies equally to bee devided betweee them and for default of such heires to the right heires of the said Daniell Cocke the testator

Item I give unto the poore of Sturry vis xiijd to be payde unto them in the parishe Churche within one yeare after my decease by my executrix hereafter named

This is the last will and testament of mee Daniell Cocke of Sturry whereunto I appoint my now wife Joane my Sole Executrix

Notes:
Daniell Cocke married Joan Olyer 22nd October 1598 at St. Peter, Bridge
It appears the children were all christened in Dover! Needs further investigation....
