Also I give and devise unto my Grandson JOHN STEVENS all that my messuage or tenement with the barns stables outbuildings yards banksides gardens and orchards together with all those several pieces or parcels of land Arable Meadows pasture and wood thereunto belonging or in any wist appertaining with them and every of their appurtenances situate lying and being at NORMAN STREET aforesaid in the said Parish of Sundridge and now in my own tenure or occupation and also all that my messuage or tenement with the outbuildings yard garden orchard ground and appurtenances thereunto so belonging situate lying and being at or near IDE HILL in the Parish of Sundridge aforesaid and in or late in the tenure or occupation of JOHN and WILLIAM STAPLES and which was heretofore the Estate and inhabitation of RICHARD MANLOVE to hold these said messuages or tenements and provisos before mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with those appurtenances unto my said Grandson JOHN STEVENS his heirs and assigns for ever.
Also I do give and devise unto my Grandson RICHARD STEVENS all that my messuage or tenement with the barns stables outhouses edifices and buildings yards barksides gardens orchards together with several pieces or parcels of land arable pastures and wood thereunto belonging to in any wist appertaining with them and every of their appurtenances and containing by estimation thirty acres be the same more or less situate lying and being at or near a certain place called the Cross Keys in the Parish of Seven Oaks in the said County of Kent and now or last in the tenure and occupation of WILLIAM EVEREST his assigns or undertenants. To hold the said last habitation farm lands hereditaments and provisos unto my said Grandson, RICHARD STEVENS his heirs and assigns for ever
and whereas my son WILLIAM COGGER not being endowed with sufficient capacity to embark in public business for obtaining his livelihood and in order to insure him a permanent provision according to the best of my abilities and judgement I do hereby give and bequeath unto him the sum of ten shillings a week for and during the term of his natural life and do hereby confirm the same to hear in manner hereinafter mentioned that is to say I give and bequeath unto my said son WILLIAM COGGER the sum of ten shillings a week to be paid to him weekly and every week for and during the term of his natural life, the first payment thereof to begin and to be made on the second Monday next and immediately after my decease.
Also I give and bequeath unto SARAH COLE Spinster heretofore resident with me as my housekeeper and who was intended to have been my daughter in law by and of her marriage with my late son EDWARD COGGER deceased one quarterly or half yearly charge of twelve pounds per annum for and during the term of her natural life which I do want to be paid to her quarterly by my executors hereinafter named, the first payment thereof to begin and be made on the first and next quarter day that shall happen after my decease
and it is my express �� Will and ��. and I so hereby charge and make liable all and every my messuages or tenements farms lands hereditaments and provisos with the appurtenances so by me given and devised to my said two grandsons JOHN STEVENS and RICHARD STEVENS as aforesaid to and with the payment of the said sum of ten shillings a will to my said son WILLIAM COGGER and twelve pounds per annum unto the said SARAH COLE in manner aforesaid in the following proportions, that is to say one moiety or equal half part thereof to be chargeable and payable out of the said hereditaments and provisos so by me given and devised to my said Grandson JOHN STEVENS as aforesaid and the remaining moiety or equal half part thereof to be chargeable and payable out of the said hereditaments and provisos so by me devised to my said Grandson RICHARD STEVENS as aforesaid. And in case it shall happen that the said weekly sum of ten shillings to my said son WILLIAM COGGER or the said annuity of twelve pounds to the said SARAH COLE so by us given and apportioned as aforesaid or either of them or any part of them or either of them shall be in arrears and unpaid after the time or times by me herein before appointed for the payment thereof respectively it shall and may be lawful and I do hereby empower my said son WILLIAM COGGER and the said SARAH COLE and each of them to enter into and upon the several messuages or tenements farms lands hereditaments and provisos so respectively charged with the payment thereof in the proportion aforesaid and into every or any part or parcel thereof and receive and take the rents issues and profits thereof to his and their own use and borrow it until he and she shall be fully paid and satisfied the said weekly sum of ten shillings and the said annuity of twelve pounds so given bequeathed and apportioned as aforesaid and all arrears thereof which shall be thus behind and unpaid and all such costs charges damages and expenses as he or she shall incur or sustain by reason of such nonpayment as aforesaid.
Also I give and bequeath unto my two daughters namely ELIZABETH
the wife of MICHAEL RANGER and JANE the wife of JOHN POTTER the sum of one shilling each only
I have already given my said daughters the sum of four hundred pounds a piece,
also I give and bequeath
unto ANNE CLARKE the widow of GEORGE CLARKE, Surgeon deceased the sum of twenty pounds
all which said above mentioned legacies I do direct to be paid within twelve months next after my decease
and by my Executors hereinafter named also after payment of my just debts legacies funeral expenses
probate of this my will and other incident charges all the rest residue and remainder of my ready money
debts goods chattel and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever the
same may be I give and bequeath to my two said grandsons JOHN STEVENS and RICHARD STEVENS
their executors administrators and assignees equally to be divided between them share and share alike and I
do hereby make nominate and appoint the said JOHN STEVENS and RICHARD STEVENS the full and
joint executors of this my last will and testament thereby revoking and making void all former and other
wills by me formerly made and lastly I do hereby entrust and request my two respected friends WILLIAM
THOMPSON of Sundridge aforesaid farmer and WILLIAM HALL of Brasted in the said county of Kent
farmer (if occasion shall require) to be aiding and assisting and advising my said executors in the due
execution of this my will and best performance thereof who I hope and trust will abide by their opinion
question and advice thereof.
In witness whereof I the said JOHN COGGER the Testator this my last Will
and Testament contained in three sheets of paper to the two first sheets thereof have set my hand and to this
last sheet my hand and Seal this twenty sixth day of July in the fortieth year of the Reign of our Sovereign
Lord George the Third by the Grace of God and Great Britain France and Ireland, King Defender of the
Faith and so forth and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand and eight hundred JOHN COGGER has
signed sealed published and declared by the said JOHN COGGER the Testator as and for his last Will and
Testament in the presence of us at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have
subscribed our names as witnesses to the same the words �One shilling� in the two last lines of the second
sheet being first wrote on an erasure.

THIS WILL was proved at London on the twenty fourth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and one before the worshipful SAMUEL PEARSON Parson Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honorable SIR WILLIAM WYNNE KNIGHT also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of JOHN STEVENS and RICHARD STEVENS the Grandsons of the deceased and Executors named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer.
