In the name of God Amen the fowereteenth day of November in the year of our Lord God one thowsand six hundred thirty and Six
I Henry Colman of Stanford in the County of Kent Yeoman beeinge in good health and of sound and p[er]fect mind and memorye thanks bee given to almighty God doe ordayne and make my Testament and laste will in manner and forme following [That is to say)
First hoping assuredly thorough the meritts of Christ my onely Saviour of remission if all my sines and Salvacon of my Soule And my body I Committ to the Earth to bee buried in decent and Christian like manner of buryall at the discrecon of my Executors heereafter noiated?

Item I give and bequeath unto the poore people of the parish of Stanford the summe of Forty shillings;
And to the poore p[ar]ish of Braborne the like summe of Forty shillings to bee distributed a mongst them and either of them by my executors wthin six weekes after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto William Court; Thomas Court the elder; Stephen Court; Thomas Court the younger; and Clement Court; sonnes of William Court of Waltham in the said County to every of them the somme of Tenn poundes apeece to bee paid unto them and every of them w[i]thin one year after my decease by my Executor

Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Rolfe nowe the wife of John Rolfe of Munks Horton the summe of Ten poundes of lawfull money of England to bee paid unto her by my Executors wthin one year after my decease
Item I give and bequeath unto Julian Courte daughter of the said William Court of Waltham the sum of ten poundes of lawful money of England to bee paid unto her by my Executor at her age of one and Twentye yeeres if shee shalbee then living

Item I give and bequeath unto William Carter; Anne Carter; Mary Carter and Julian Carter; sonne and daughters of my sister Susan Carter to e[i]ther of them Fifty poundes of lawfull money of England to bee paid unto them and either of them as they shall attaine and come to their severall ages of one and Twenty yeares by my Executor if they and ev[e]ry of them soe longe live

The residue of all my goods and Chattles bequeathed my debts and legacies beeinge paid and my funerall excepting discharged I wholy give and bequeath unto Matthew Court sonne of the said William Court of Waltham whom I make sole exeuctor of this my Testam[en]t and last will
And I entreate Master John Hogbeen of Elham to bee aydyinge and assistinge to my Executors in and about this my last will
And I give him for his paines Forty shillings

This is the last will and Testament of mee the above named Henry Colman made & declared the day and year above written touchinge and concerning the disposicon of all my landes, tenem[en]ts and hereditaments whatsoever w[i]th their appurten[an]c[e]s Scytuate lying and beeing in the said County of Kent

First I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Horne and Julyan Horne, daughters of my sister May Horne one annuity or yeerly rent of seaven pounds of lawfull money of EngLand and also the money for w[hi]ch the said Annuity was graunted, if it shalbee paid in according to the Condicon issuinge and going out of the Landes and Tenem'ts of Henrye Colman of Petham gent[leman] To have and to hold to them and their heires for Ever equally to bee divided betweene them

And if it shall fortune that if either the said Elizabeth and Julian shall happen to decease wthowt heires of her bodye lawfully begotten Then I will and bequeathe her part of the Annuity or yearly rent of seaven poundes and also of the money for which the same was grannted soe deceasing to the Survivor of them and to the heires and assignes for Ever
And if itt shall fortune that the said Elizabethe Horne and Julyan Horne shall decease wthout heires of either of their bodies Lawfully to bee begotten, then I give the said Annuity or yeerly rent of Seaven poundes and also the money for wch the same was graunted to Henry Carter sonne of my Sister Susan Carter to him, his heires and assignes for ever

Item I give and bequeath unto Henry Jenkin my godsonne and sonne of my brother Henry Jenkin of Canterbury, gent[leman], one peece or p[ar]cell of land wth th'appurtencs called Bothers lyinge and beeinge in Folkestone in the said County of Kent : To have & to hold to him his heires and assignes for ever
Nev[e]rtheles my mind is that the said Henry Jenkin my godsonne his heires or assignes shall paie out of the said peece or p'cell of land unto William Jenkin; Robert Jenkin; Margarett Jenkin and Mary Jenkin, Brothers and Sisters of the said Henry my godsonne to either of them the summe of five poundes of lawfull money of England
Alsoe my will is that the said Henry Jenkin my godsonne shall pay out of the said peece or p'cell of land unto Thomas Jenkin one of the sonnes of my said Brother Henry Jenkin the Summe of Tenne poundes of lawfull money of England
The said severall Sommes of money to be paid unto [them] wthin one yeare after my decease. And for default of paim[en]t it shalbe lawfull for him and her soe being unpaid, into the said peece or p'cell of land to enter and distreyne, and the distresse to wthhold and keepe untill they and Every of them shalbee fully satisfied and paide

Item I give and bequeath unto Robert Jenkin, sonne of my Brother in lawe Thomas Jenkin one peece or pcell of land wth the appurtences wch I purchased of ____ Digby and his wife lyinge in Folkestone aforesaid To have & to hold to him his heires and assignes for ever
Nevrtheles my mind is that the said Robert Jenkin and his heires shall paie out of the said peece or pcell of land unto Sara Jenkin and Elizabeth his Sisters to either of them the Summe of five pounds of lawfull money of England
Also my mind is that the said Robert Jenkin and his heires shall paie out of the said peece or pcell of land unto Robert Jenkin Sonne of my brother Matthew Jenkin deceased the Summe of Ten poundes of lawfull money of England the said severall Sommes of money to bee paid wthin one yeare after my decease
And for default of paimt itt shalbee lawfull for him or her soe beeing unpaid into the said peece or pcell of land to enter and to distreyne & the distresse to wth hold and keepe untill they and evry of them shalbee fully satisfied and paid

Item I give and bequeathe unto Susan Colman, Elizabeth Colman, and Franc[e]s Coleman, daughters of my Sister Elizabeth Colman, All and Singular my lands and Tenemts wth th’appurtencs Scituate lyinge and beeinge in the pishes of Braborne and Stowtinge in the said Countye of Kent Excepte one peece and pcell thereof commonly called Adames Downe To have and hold to them their heires and assignes for ever equally to bee divided betweene them
Nevertheles my will and meaning is, and I do heereby give and bequeath unto Mary Horne my Sister for and duringe her naturall life one annuitye or yearly rent of Sixteen poundes to bee issuing and goinge out of my said land and tenemts in Braborne and Stoutinge aforesaid att foure feasts or termes in the year (That is to say) Att the feast of the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; the Anunciacon of our blessed lady Mary the Virgine; The nativity of St. John the Baptist; and Sainte Michaell tharchangell, by equall and even porcons The first paim't to bee made att Feast of the feasts aforesaid, wch shall next happen after the decease of mee the saide Henry Coleman
And if it shall happen that the said Annuitye or yeerly rent shalbee behind or unpaid in part or in all over or after either of the said Feasts of paim't in which as aforesaid the same ought to bee paid Then and from thence forthe and att all tymes after itt shall and maye bee lawfull to and or the said Mary Horne and her Assignes into my said landes and tenemts wth th’appurtencs in Braborne and Stowtinge aforesaid to enter and distreyne and the distresse to wth holde and keepe untill shee shall bee fully satisfied and paide

Provided alwaies and my will and meaning is, That if the said Mary Horne my Sister shall att any time heerafter intermarrye with any p’son Or shall give, grante, bargaine, sell, alien, assigne or Convey away the said Annuity or yeerely rent of xvj li or any part thereof Then and from thenceforthe the said Annuity or yeerely rent and the paiement thereof shall cease bee voide and of none effect, any thing before in these prdts menconed to the Contrary thereof in any wise nottwthstanding

Item I give and bequeath unto Henry Courte my godsonne and sonne of the said William Court of Waltham, the said peece or pcell of land called Adams Downe and the said pece or pcell of Woodland adjoynninge to Adams Downe wth all and sing[u]lar their appurtences To have and to hold to him and his heires forever

Item I give and bequeath unto Mary Horne my Sister All that my Tenement and Lands wth thappurtences scituat lying and benige in the pish of Monks Horton in the said County of Kent; To have and to hold to the said Mary Horne during the terme of her naturall life doeing noe sufferinge to be done any manner of stripp, wast or destaccon thereuppon or thereunto
And after the decease of the sayd Mary Horne I give and bequeath my said Tenement and Lands wth thappurtences in Monks Horton aforesaid unto William Carter sonne of my said Sister Susan Carter To have and to hold to him and his heires forever

Item I give and bequeath unto Matthew Court sonne of the said William Court of Waltham all my landes and Tenements scituate, lying and being in Stanford aforesaid wch I purchased of William Smith, to have and to hold to him and his heires forever
Neverthelesse my minde is and I doe give and bequeath unto Ann Court my Sister now the wife of the said William Court of Waltham one Annuity or yearely rent of four pounds of Lawfull money of England, to be Yssueing and goeing out of all my said Lands and Tenements wth thappurtences as aforesaid given and bequeathed unto the said Matthew and his heires To have and to hold to her the said Ann Court and her assignes during her natural life at fower feasts or Termes in the yeare (That is to say) At the feasts of the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christe; the Anuctiacon [Annunciation] our Blessed Lady Mary the Virgin; The nativity of Snt. John the Baptist; and Snt. Michael Tharchangell by equal and even porcons to bee payd The first payment thereof to beginn and bee made in and uppon that feast of the Feasts aforesayd wch shall next happen after the decease of me the said Henry
And if it shall happen the said Annuity or yearely rent of Fower pounds of lawfull money of England to bee behinde or unpaide in p[ar]te or in all over or after either of the sayd feasts of payment in wch as aforesayd the same ought to bee payd Then it shall and may bee lawfull to and for the sayd Ann and her assignes into all and singular my said Lands and Tenements aforesayd wth thappurtences wch I have given unto the sayd Matthew Court and his heires to enter and distraine And the distresse to wthhold and keepe untill shee and her assignes shallbee fully satisfied and paid, the said anuity or yearely rent of Fower pounds and all arrearages thereof

Item I give and bequeath unto the sayd Matthew Court and his heires forever one Annity or yearely rent of three pounds of Lawfull money of England wch I have yssueing and goeing out of the lands of Thomas Upton and also the money for wch the sayd Annuity was grannted; if it bee repayed at the time
And also one other Annuity or yearely rent of Forty Eight Shillinges of Lawfull money of England wch I have yssueing and goeing out of the lands of Henry Jenkins

Item I give and bequeath unto Thomas Carter sonne of my Sister Susan Carter all my Lands and Tenements whatsoever wth thappurtences scituate lying and beinge in Heth [Hythe]; West Heth and Saltwood in the sayd County of Kent To have and to hold to him the said Thomas his heires and assignes for ever

Item I give and bequeath unto Susan Carter my Sister my Messuage or Tenement wth thappurtences wherein I now dwell And all the Lands, Tenements, pastures, woodes, feedinges, Courtes, wayes, proffitts, Comodityes and appurtences thereunto app[er]taininge or belonging or wth the same uses and enjoyed scituat lying and being in Stanford To have and to hold to her the sayd Susan and her assignes until Henry Carter her sonne shall attain to the age of ower and Twentie yeares; shee doeing nor suffering to bee done any manner of stripp nor wast or discuscon? thereunto or thereupon
And after the said Henry Carter shall attaine to the age of Fower and twenty yeares I give and bequeath the said Messuage, Lands, Tenements and Hereditam[en]ts last before menconed wth all and singular Their appurtencs unto him the said Henry his heires and assignes for ever
Provided alwayes and my will is that the said Henry Carter his heires and assignes After his said age of Fower and Twentie yeares and entrance into the said messuage and pr[e]misses shall yarely and every yeare during the naturall life of the said Susan Carter, pay unto the said Susan and her assignes out of the said Messuage, lands and prmisses as aforesaid given and bequeathed unto him the said Henry and his heires one Annuity or yearely rent Chardge of Eight pounds of lawfull money of England at Fower feasts or Termes in the yeare (That is to say) Att the feast of the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; the Anunciacon of our blessed lady Mary the Virgine; The nativity of St. John the Baptist; and Sainte Michaell tharchangell, by equall and even porcons to bee paid
And for default of payment thereof it shalbee lawfull for the said Susan and her assignes into the said messuage, Lands and prmisses or into any parte thereof before menconed to enter and distraine And the distresse to wth hold and keepe untill she shalbe fully satisfied and payd, the said Annuity or yearely rent of Eight pounds and all arrerages thereof
