In dei Nonime Amen [In the name of God Amen] The xvijth [17th] day of July in the xxxvijth [37th] yere of the Reigne of our most Sovraigne Lorde Henry the viijth by the grace of God Kinge of England Fraunce and Irelande, Defendour of the faithe and in earth immediatly under God Supreme Head of the Churche of England and Ireland
I ohn Colyer of the p[a]rishe of Lenham in the countie of Kent whole in mynde & of p[er]fitt memory make and ordeyne this my testament and last will in man[ne]r and forme as here under folowith
First I bequeath my soule to into the tuicon, ordre and govrnance of Almightie God trustinge oinly in the merites of the gloriouse apassion of [h]is most entierly belovyd sonne Jhus [Jesus] Christ that he of his blessed and mrcifull goodnes will vouchesauf to bringe my soule to the glory & blesse of heaven and to remayne ther(e) in quyetnes and in moche peace forevr
Item after my liff is departed my bodye I will that my body be buried in the Churche of Lenham at suche aplace as shalbe thought mete arpt [apt] and convenyent by the churchwardens of the same proche (parish?)

Item I geve to the reparacons of the ornaments of the churche of Lenham xs
Item I geve to the vicar of the same churche in respect of my tenthes not duely apaid xxd
Item I will to be bestowed at my out bearinge in charitable dedes [deeds] xls and likewise at my monthes day a xls and at my yearsmynde xxs after suche sorte as shalbe thought mete by my exer [executor(s)]

And I geve to Johan Fidge a xls at her marriage
And I geve to Luce my mayde xxs
Item to Julyan Pratte one heiffer
Item to George Baker xxd
Item unto Thomas Jennet ov[e]r and above his wages vjs viijd if he tary out his yere
Item to Nicholas Newgate xs
Item to Walter Wood my furred gowne

Item to my broth[e]r George my weddinge gowne

Item to my brother Richard my gowne lyned wt chamblet wt one cote of rustells [russet?] worsted
Item to my brother Welles my blacke damaske jacket

Item I geve to Robert Clarke of Ulcombe my foxe furred gowne
Item to either of my godsonnes and goddaughters iiijd
Item to either of my brother & Sisters children a xijd

The Residue of all my goodes moveable not bequeithed my debtes and Legacies first duely and truly paid I geve unto Margaret my wiff whome I make myn executoure to and wt ohr [Mr?] Peter Haymon of Sellinge my moste truste and assured Frend unto whome ovr & above besides all this I geve to encourage hym to take A further payne labour and travaile in theis my affairs a lxvjs viijd
and that Robert Burges my Father in Lawe be Oversear of this my testament & last will

This is the last Will of me the said John Colyer of Lenham in the Countie of Kent made the daye and yere above rehersed for thordring [the ordering] and better disposicon of all my landes and tenements wtin [within] the same Countie

First I will that Margaret my wiff have enjoye occupy and receive all p[ro]fitts of all my landes and tenem[en]ts lyinge wtin the parisshes of Biddenden Smarden Maydston[e] Egerton Lenham W[y]cheling and Charinge in the countie of Kent duringe her liffe kepinge reasonable necessary and convenient repaires from tyme to tyme wtout wast Also of woodes and hedgerowes groweing in or upon the same landes

And if it fortune Margaret my wiff to be wt childe and wt issue male childe, I will that my said issue male shall entre into all my saide landes & tenements wt there appurten[a]nces and to enjoy the whole and entyre perforside? of the same in his own handes at his age of xxti [20] yeres
And he to pay yerely if he so longe lyve unto his mother Margaret my welbeloved wiff fyve pounds st[er]ling duringe her naturall liff by sufficient assurance to be made in the lawe
But if it fortune my said wif(e) to be wt childe wt issue female Then I will that Mary Colyer my daughter and my other daughter after my wyves decease to have all my landes & tenemts wt thappurtennncs to them equally to be devyded forever
And Further I will that Margaret my wiff of the issues and pfeccs [profits] of my said landes & tenemts pay to either of my daughters when they come to thage of twenty yeares twentye pounds And if any of them fortune to dye afore that age Then I will that either of them be the others heire
And further I will that my wiff Margaret Colyar see my children well brought upp of her costs and charges unto suche tyme as they shalbe fowretene or xv yeres old

Further Whereas I have paid to my Brother George Colyar thirtie poundes for the purchase of his wiffs parte of all her landes and tene'ts in the p[a]risshes of Lenham and Ulcombe or els[e] where, my will is that assurance be made of the same landes & tenents unto Margaret my wiff by fyne for terme of her liff, the remaynder thereof after her decease unto my next heires
Nevrtheles if my brother George wilbe bounden to my wiff by sufficient writinge Obligatory to repaye unto my saide wiff or her assignes the said sume of xxxte Li [£30] within two yeres after the date hereof, then I will the said bargayn and sale to be voyd and noone effect

Item I will that Margaret my wiff pay yerely unto Richard Colyar my brother or to his assignes out of my landes at Byddeden fowre pounds st[er]ling quarerly to be paid unto the tyme that iiijor yeres by exyred And the first payment to begyine at the Feast of All Saints next aft[er] the date of theis p[rese]nts
