and I give unto my friends John Lock of the Parish of Gillingham in the said County Gentleman;
William Hunt of the Parish of Higham in the said County Gentleman;
and George Murton of the Parish of Faversham in the same County Gentleman
the legacy or sum of one hundred pounds sterling each as a mark of my regard and esteem for them and in consideration of the care or trouble they
may have in performing and executing the directions contained in this my will
Also I give and bequeath unto my brother in law Michael Comport Gentleman a handsome mourning ring which ring I Request and authorize the Executors of this my will to purchase and present to him as soon as conveniently may be after my decease requesting his acceptance thereof as a memorial of my affectionate regard for him
Also I give and bequeath unto my esteemed friend John Murton of Cooling Castle in the said County Gentleman the legacy or Sum of one
hundred pounds sterling as an acknowledgement and in grateful remembrance of his invariable and valuable attention to the conduct
and management of my concerns and property
Also I give and bequeath unto my half sister Jane Buck of the City of Rochester widow the legacy or sum of one hundred and fifty pounds sterling
Also I give and bequeath unto my nephews Michael Smith Comport and George Comport Gentlemen and unto my niece Sarah Ann the wife of John Rose Baker the younger Cattleman, three of the children of my late dear Sister Elizabeth Ann Comport deceased the legacy or sum of one hundred and fifty pounds sterling each
Also I give and bequeath unto my young friend Elizabeth Gascoyne the daughter of the late Henry Barnett Gascoyne Gentleman deceased the
legacy or sum of two hundred pounds sterling
Also I give and bequeath unto my servant William Gates the legacy or sum of fifty pounds sterling if he shall be in my service at the time
of my decease
Also I give and bequeath unto Augustus Comport late of Hoo in the County of Kent Gentleman the legacy or sum of fifty pounds sterling
Also I give and bequeath unto Harriet Dive the daughter of Philip Dive a legacy of fifty pounds sterling
And I request the executors of this my will to pay or cause to be paid the said several legacies within one year next after my decease, the same
nevertheless to be respectively vested at the time of my decease
Also I give and bequeath unto the said Elizabeth Gascoyne all my wearing apparel and wearing linen
and also my gold watch with the seal engraved with my initials S.C.
Also I give unto my friends Elizabeth Smith Murton and Mary Ann Murton respectively such different
pieces of china as shall be found at the time of my decease marked with their separate initials
And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my household goods plate jewels trinkets linen china
glass printed books paintings and pictures of which I shall be possessed at the time of my decease and
also as to for touching and concerning all my real estate whatsoever and wheresoever and all the rest
residue and remainder of my goods monies chattels rights credits and all other my personal estate and
effects not hereinbefore specially bequeathed of which I shall be respectively seized and possessed
empowered to dispose of or entitled unto at the time of my decease I give devise and bequeath the same and every part and parcel thereof according
to the respective natures and tenures thereof respectively
unto my beloved niece Elizabeth Sarah Murton (the wife of the above named John Murton and one of the daughters of my said Sister Elizabeth Ann
Comport deceased) her heirs executors administrators and assigns to hold the same according to the respective
natures and tenures thereof unto her my niece Elizabeth Sarah Murton her heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever
subject nevertheless as to my said residuary personal estate to the payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary charges and expences and
the legacies hereinbefore by me given and bequeathed and which personal estate I hereby charge and make liable with and to the payment thereof accordingly
And I hereby nominate and appoint my friends the said John Lock, William Hunt and George Murton Executors of this my last will and testament
Provided always and I do hereby declare and direct that the executors of this my will and the survivors and survivor of them his executors and
administrators shall be charged and chargeable with such sum and sums of money only as they shall respectively actually receive by virtue of the
office of executor aforesaid or otherwise pertaining to this my will notwithstanding their joining in any receipt or receipts or doing any other
act or acts for the sake of conformity and that they or any of them shall not be answerable or accountable for any involuntary or misfortune or
damage which may happen in the execution of this my will and testament or in relation or otherwise pertaining thereto
Provided also and I hereby Lastly devise and direct that it shall be lawful for the said executors and the survivors and survivor of them and the executors of such survivor of them on and out of the money which shall or may come to their or either of their hands possession or keeping to deduct retain and reimburse for themselves respectively or himself and also to allow to each other all costs charges damages and expences which they or any or either of them may sustain or expend disburse or incur in or about the execution of the aforesaid matters and things or any or either of them or in any wise or manner pertaining or relating thereunto
In Witness whereof to this my last will and testament contained in three sheets of paper I the said Sarah

presence of us present at the same time who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each
other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto

On the 18th May 1847 Adm[inistrati]on with the will annexed of the Goods Chattles and Credits
of Sarah Comport late of Gattons House in the Parish of Cliffe in the County of Kent Widow deceased
was granted to Elizabeth Sarah Murton (wife of John Murton) the niece and the residuary legatee
named in the said will having been first sworn by Comon duly to administer
John Lock and George Murton the surviving executors named in the said Will having first renounced the Probate
and Execution thereof as by acts of Court appears
