I give and bequeath to Miss Hariot Crause in case of my death the Legacy left her by Mrs. George Comport of Gattons House in the Parish of Cliffe, Kent who died (blank space)

I declare this my last Will and Testament

In the Goods of Augustus Comport deceased

Appeared Personally Mary Anna Crause of Cherry Orchard Cottage, Bromley Common in the County of Kent, Spinster and made oath that she is one of the subscribed Witnesses to the last Will and Testament thereto annexed bearing date the twenty seventh day of May one thousand eight hundred and forty seven of the said Augustus Comport late of Knockholt in the County of Kent deceased
And she further made oath that on the twenty seventh day of May aforesaid the said Testator duly executed his said Will by signing his name at the foot or end thereof in the presence of this Appearer and of Richard Rich Rahbon the other subscribed Witness thereto they being both present at the same time and the said Richard Rich Rahbon and this Appearer then attested and subscribed the said Will in the presence of the said Testator and of each other
Mary Anna Crause
On the sixteenth day of November 1848 the said Mary Anna Crause Spinster was duly sworn to the truth of this Affidavit
Before me A. Waddilove, Surr[ogate] B.K.V. Tibbs, Not[ar]y Pub[li]c

On the 16th Novr. 1848 Admon. [Administration] (with the will annexed) of the Goods chattels and credits of Augustus Comport late of Knockholt in the County of Kent Widower deceased was granted to Harriot Crause Spinster the sole Legatee named in the said Will having been first sworn duly to Administer
No Executor or Residuary Legatee and John Umphelby, Jane Best Comport, Spinster and Mary Swift Warberton (nee Comport) (Wife of William Newman Warberton) the lawful nephews and nieces and only next of kin having first renounced the Letters of Admon. (with the said Will annexed) of the Goods of the said deceased

Augustus Comport was baptised on 7th October 1781, s. of William and Susannah Comport, at SS Peter & Paul, Shorne, Kent.
Augustus Comport, bachelor of Eltham, Kent, married Kitty Comport, Spinster of Cooling, Kent on 12th January 1804 at St. James, Cooling.
Banns were read at St. George the Martyr, Southwark between Augustus Comport, widower & Harriet Crause, spinster botp Dec-Jan 1838.
