In dei noie Amen In the yere of our Lord god [1530] the second day of Aprill
I George Cok of the pishe of Chistlett [Chislet] hole [of] mynde & yn good rem�brance [remembrance] beyng make and ordeye thus my p�sent testamente & last will in this manr [manner] and forme folowing
First I bequeth my Soule to almyghty god to our Lady vyrgene [virgin] Mary And to all the sayents of hevyn And my bodye to be buried in the church yard of Chistlett aforesaid

Item I give and bequeth unto the high aulter of the same churche for my tithes and offryngs by me negligently forgotten and witholden viijd
Item I bequeth to the toward (as written) the reparacon of the bodye of the said churche of Chistlett xijd to be paid by my xij moneth day [i.e., 12 months after his burial]
Item I bequethe to every of my godchildren ijd

Item I give and bequethe to Thomas Cok my sone ij chestes A payre of shete next to the best A tableclothe of playine [plain] clothe vj pewter platers ij pewter disshes A Boll [bowl] A Brasse pott brokyn on the bryme And a stepyn with astele yn hit A laver And a basyn the gretest with an olde cheyre And also my busshells of whete of this yeres croppe and the Rypp it and helpe [to] gett it to the barne of his owne use and charge

Furthermore I will and ordeyne Isabelle my wife my trewe and faytheful sole executrix of this my p�sent testamente and last will to pay my detts and fulfyll my bequethes
And also to dispose for the welthe of my Soule in the church of Chistlett x masses dirige and other good merit to our lady at my fourthe such monethes day and xij masses day the value of xxs every whych porcious [portions] to be bestowed after the discretion of the said Isabelle my wife
And if she deceasse or my xij monethes day be come then I will Thomas Cok my said sone fulfyll this my testamente and last will yn like manr as the said Isabelle my wif should have done if she had lived as above so her said

The Residue of all my moveable goods That is [to] saie of corne catall and yinstuffe my detts & bequeths satisfied and paid I geve theym unto the foresaide Isabelle my wife except only a table with a tresselle a pothangle A bedstedle A hangyngbord lyke A iij round harr...? made of iij bordes A Quorne A Salt stok & shelves hangyng yn the hall with an old chest And a benche wth bordes on it The which I wyll remayne yn my Tenement at hygh stede after the deceasse of Isabelle my wife to thuse of Thomas Cok [whome] I make and ordeyne Overseer of this my p�sent testamente and last wyll To see it p�formed and fulfylled yn every wyse And I give to him for his trewe deligence havying oin these premyses viijd

This is the Last will of me the above namyed George Cok made the day and yere Above wrytten And the xxjth yere of the Reign of Kyng Henry viijth And touchyng the disposcion of my tenets. [Tenements] and lands Apperteynyng to it The whche I have sett lyeing and beyng in the pishe of Chistlett at highstede in the whiche John Cotner and John Cottyn bee overseers to my use

First I will that Thomas Cok my sone shalhave two Acres of my foresaid Lands lyenge yn the Dane at mihelmes next after foloweing my decesse To have to hym his heires of his bodye lawfully begotten for ever

Furthermore I will ymediatly [immediately] after my decesse that Isabelle my wife shalhave my tenement sett at highstede wthall my other Lands appertynyng to it Except half an Acre of my Land lyeing at the Bekard? The whiche I wyll it to be sold by my feoffes & Executors so be it that my moveable goods above my gyfts of and two kyne alway refuysed to thuse of Isabelle my wife wilnot extend to pay the xij and csrias? of my son to bye it of he wyll or may byfore any other may if it be sold She kepying and payeing yerely toward the Reparacon of the foresaid Tenements xxd And to the cheef Lord of the fee his due by yer yeerly duryng her naturall life lepyng her sole wydowe

And after the decesse of the same Isabelle my wife Then I will the same tenement and lands to her above willed That Thomas my son shall have theym to him and his heires of his body lawfully begotten

And yf it fortune the foresaid Isabelle my wife to marry after my decesse Then I Will ymedyaetly that Thomas my sonne shalhave and enioye my foresaid tenements and lands to it to have to hym his & his heires of his bodye lawfully begotten for ever And the foresaid Isabelle my wif yn any wyse notwithstandyng so deyny

And if it fortune the said Thomas my son to dye wthout heires of his bodye lawfully begotten or els the same Thomas my son havyng issue of his bodye lawfully begotten and the same issue or issues dye or they come to lawfull Age after their decesse Then I will all my foresaid Lands and Tenements with their Appurtenances Above wylled be sold by myn feoffes or their Assignes to the most value that wylbe gevyn for it And of the money comyng I Wyll it be bestowed by the Churchewardens of Chistlett and my other distresse may As yn beyng vestements and other ornamente whereof they shalhave most nede At that tyme for the helthe of my Soule my good frends [souls} And for all xpian [Christian] soules

And I give to every of my said feofeis for their trew diligenncs [diligence] havyng yn and Abowte these prmysses [premises] xijd that one halfe of it to be paid at the first delyvre [delivery] of Aftare And the rest at the last delyvre for to be paid

A Thomas Cooke married Sisselani Hopkyn on 19 June 1555 at Chislet. Possibly the son?
