In the name of God Amen the xxth day of the monethe of October in the yere of our lord god [1547] and in the xxvii? yere of the Reigne of King Henry theight
I Nycolas Cooke of the paryshe of Thanyngton in the Countie of Kent yeoman do make and ordeyne this my pnte [present] testament and laste will in maner and forme following
ffirst I bequethe my soule to the mercifull handes of allmightie God, and my body to be buried in the churche yard of the pishe aforesayd

Item I ordeyne and make xpian [Christian] my wif with her brother John Edwards myn executors
And they to pay my dettes as farre as the goodes will streache
And to bestowe for the welthe of my Soule and all xpian soules as they thynke moste beste

The Residue and my goodes moveable and unmoveable I give and bequeth unto myne exectruxis.
They to performe this my lastwill and testamente

This ys the Laste will of me thaforesayd Nycolas Cooke made the day and yere aforesayd
As concernynge the disposicon of my house and garden with thapprtnces [the appurtenances] sette lieng and being n the payshe of Thannyngton aforesayd

First I will that xpain my wif shall have the sayd house and garden with thappurttces [for the] terme of her naturall lyfe And after her decease I will yt remayne unto the childe that my wif now gotte withall if she be withe childe

And if she be not withe chide then I will after my decease it shall remayne to Alyce Cooke my basterd daughter to her and to her heires for ever
And I will that if my wif be withe childe That then I will she shall pay to Alys Cooke my basterde daughter vil xiiis iiiid wtn [within] ii yeares after my decease

And if it happen the said Alys my daugher as ys aforesaid die without heires of her body lawfully begotten And before the said Xpian my wif Then I will it remayne to Xpian my wife and to her heires and assignes for ever in fee simple
