In the name of god amen The yere of our Lorde god [1554/5?] the fyrst and second yere of phillipe and marye by the grace of god Kinge and Quene of England France Naples Jerusalem and Ireland defender of the faith the xiiijth day of Marche
I Edward Cooke holle of mynde and of good rembrannce [remembrance] make this my last will and testamente after this forme followinge
Fyrst I geve and bequeth my soule to god almightie to our Ladye Saynte Marye [to be] buried wthin the church yard of Saynte Martyns in Herne

I give and bequeth to Johan my wif my howse Also the terme of her naturall lyf yf she doo not marry
and ymediately after her mariage or after her decease I give and bequeth the said howse wt [with] thappurtenances [the appurtenances] thereinto belonginge to mighell my sonne [Michael] to doo wt it what pleaseth him payinge to Elizabeth his daughter xls the day of her marage

Also I will that my quernes goo to that howse the table the tresselles the forme and the cobbord and there to remayn duringe the said tyme and then to be at the will and pleasure of Migell my sonne

Also I will that my wif shalhave my cowe for ever Also I give to my wif a therebed and the hanginges aboute the bed Also a chest that was her owne and all pewter brasse vessell not bequethed one table cloth of hempe and one towell tubbes palles bolles and dishes
Also I geve my wif pasturinge for the keen unto mychellmas next ensuinge And the calf that is to come I geve to my wif when god doth sende it and yf mighell my sonne to have the hered [hereford?] cowe at his will and pleasure
Also I geve to my wif the hempe in the lofte and my loades of wood now bought

Also I geve and bequeth to Johane Dood one pewtr dishe and one platter ij candelstickes one brasse potte one kettell one hemp shete one chest that is at my sonnes howse one Fethere pillowe and one sawter [salt?]

Also I geve to mighell my sonne twoo pewter platters and pewter disshes and one candelsticke
Also I give to mighell my sonne all my horses bests [beasts?] and my cartes and all thinges thereunto belonginge

The Residewe of my goodes not bequethed my debtes and lagacies paid and my bodie honestly brought to the ground I geve to mighell my sonne whome I make myn executor to bestowe them to the honor of allmightie god and to the welthe [health!] of my soule and all christen soulles so that he cause dirige and mass of Req [requim?] Thn [on] the xiijth day of my burriall dirige and masse of the hollie goost the monethe day dirige and masses of the hollie goost trinite the xls day of my burriall

Edward Ancell I make overseer? of this my last will and testamente to se all thinges therein written to be truely performed to the true tenor thereof

Also I will that John Wood have his dwellinge in my howse at the Boleane gatte for the space of xj yeres Rent free payeinge the Lordes Rent xs ? by yere nd keyping reparacons nowe first

Also I geve to my wiff all the corn wthin my howse And also I will my wif shalhave halfe of the corne that is to come of my owne Land
