In the name of God Amen Anno Dini 1559
I William Cooke of the pishe of Saint Peter wthin [within] thyle [the Isle] of Tanet [Thanet] and in the Countye of Kent hole of mynde and memory ordeigne and make this my testament contayninge therein my last will in manner and forme followinge
Fyrst [first] I comit and bequeth my soulle into the hands of allmighty God and my boddy to be buried in the churche yarde of Sainte Petter aforesayd

Also I bequeth to the vicar of the sayd pishe in the dischardge of my consience [conscience] Six pence
Allso I will ther be bestowed at and so often for me at my forthfare and monethes day at evry [every] of them thereas a xij dayes vs and at my twelve monethes vis viijd

Allso I give and bequeth unto Robert Cooke my sonne my blake cotte my black peticoate and olde cheste of a seame and little chest a table ij tressels a forme a charie a brass pott my pott having holles my pott hooks a spitt that wase my fathers and ij bedsteddles

Allso I give and bequeth unto Dennys my dawter ij pewter dishes one candlesticke an olde chist A Bruyinge kettle a tryvet a table clothe myxt withe blew my best sheet and other sheet a Dylinge toobe [dying tub?] a masshinge toobe and my bushall

Allso I give and bequethe unto Jone my dawter a kettle of a tonet a copper panne an other panne an payer of blew bells and the best an parer of sheets & ij pewter plattends an candlesticke and an towell
Allso I give and bequethe to Allis Cooke my dawter an apyer of sheetes and a pyr of boddy blanketes

Allso I will that my Executores shall sell on [one] seame of barley and the money of yt to be dellivered to the said Allis my dawter yf that she be nowe lyvinge and yf the sayd Alls be decessed [deceased] then I will the sayd money to be equally devided amongest the children of the said Alis then lyvinge at thadge [the age] of xx yeres and yf all the Children do decease before the sayd age of xx years then I will the forsayd monny amongest my Children then lyvinge equally to be devided

Allso I give and bequeath to Agnes my dawter an Ewe and ij bushells of wheat
Allso I will that an bushell of wheat shalbe equally devided at my buryng and gyven to iiij poor people whear most nead ys that daye

The residew of all my moveable goods before not gyven not bequethed I will shalbe equally devided amongest my Children

Allso I ordeine and make my executore Robert Grannte to see my debtes payde and the leagcies of this my last will and testament fulfilled and to hym for his paynes iijs iiijd

This ys the laste will of me for forsayd William Cooke made the day and yeare above written and in the fyrst year of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lady Quene Elizabeth of and uppon tenementes and all my landes set lyeing and beyinge in the pishe of Sainte Petter before syad or ellst whear [elsewhere] wthin the County of Kent

fyrst I will that Robart Cooke my sonne shall have my sayd tenement and all my land sett lyinge and beynge wthin the forsayd pishe of Sainte Petter at Upton when he shall comme to theaidge [the age] of xxj years in fee simple And unto (until?) the tyme that my sayde sonne Robarte shall comme unto the sayd aidge [age] of xxj years then I will that Alesander Maynor my sonne-in-lawe shall have his dwellinge in my sayd howse paynige [paying] for the same unto my executor yearly xxs
and my sayd executors to keep all manr [manner] of reparacons and the monny that Remayns to be delivered unto my sayd sonne when he shall comme unto the sayd aidge of xxj years

And yf yt so fortune that my sayd sonne Robart do decease before he comme to the forsayd aidge of xxj years Then I will that the forsayd Alexander Maynor shall have in fee simple my said tenement and payeinge forthe same wthin space of ij years after my sayd sonne Robart�s decease unto my executors then Lyvinge a ijl vjs viijd [�2, 6 shillings and 4d] equally to be devided amongst them

And yf any of my dawters at the tyme of distributinge of the sayd monny be deceased then I will the dawters of dawter of her or their mother so deceassed then shall be the next heyr
