Will of Margaret Cooke of Rolvenden, dated 9th November 1557 and proved 18th May 1563 and is buried there, widow, 17th June 1559 In the name of God Amen the ixth daye of November in the fourthe and fyfthe yeres of the reigne of our Soveraigne Lorde and Ladye phillip and marie by the grace of god Kynge and Quene of ynglande France Spaine bothe earthe Jerusalem and Irelande Defender of the faythe etc. [9 Nov 1557]
I Margarett Cooke wydowe of the parishe of Rolvynden beinge sicke in bodye and of good remembrance thanks be to god doe make my present testament and last will in manner and forme followinge
First I bequethe my Soule to almightie god and my bodie to be buried in the churche yearde of Rolvinden abovesaid

Item I will and bequethe to Isabelle Cooke my daughter * twoo keyne to have hir choyce furst, and I gyve to the said Isabell my greate cheste and all that is in hym, Saveinge suche thinges that I lyste to gyve a waye and more I gyve to hir three sheetes and my frenge and my best Table clotheand twoo myled towells and my myddell andiron and a bolster and a little brasse pott and a stoputt? and my best kettle and a little panne which is cauled the rounde panne and a trndall and a bedstedle and a frytt and an anndyron fower pewter platters twoo pewter dishes and a salte sellor and my litle tryvett and suche chestes as she hath in hir occupayinge alredy
* Regretfully, Isabel Cooke is buried the same day as her mother at Rolvenden: 17 Jun 1559.

Item I give and bequethe to Clement Cooke my sonne * twoo keyne and my younge baulde mare, and twoo brasse potts and my greatest aandiron and fower pewter platers one pewter dyshe and a flocke bedd twoo losters twoo paire of sheetes of the best, whereof one paire of them were Stephen Cookes and my greatest spytt and greate anndiron and a myled towekk and a litle ketle and a litle paine and a latten cadlesticke chafinge dyshe
* Clement Cooke dies and is buried at Rolvenden on 18 Sep 1563, �singleman�.

Item I give and bequethe to Jervyce Cooke my sonne twoo kyne and a younge mare fower platters and a pewter dishe and a paire of sheetes and my litle andiron and Sixe bushells of wheate and a twell

Item I gyve and bequethe to the said ysabell my daughter my greate tryvett ad my fryinge panne and a chayfinge dyshe and a Sermander?
Item I will that my sonnes Clement and Jervyce shall stable myne olde mare betwene them
Item I will and bequethe to Clement Cooke my sonne my table and the tressells and form to hym belonginge which standinge in the haule and my bedstede

I will that Clement Cooke and Isabell Cooke shall have all my wheate and otes that is nowe in my barne
Item I will that my two sonnes Jervyce and Clement shall have one acre of wheate and Ysabell to have the other acre that is nowe groweing in the grounde
Item I will and bequethe to Jervyce Cooke Clement Cooke and Isabell Cooke shall indifferentlie gifte my wyne [wayne?] betwene them

Item I give to ysabell my daughter twoo hevvers and three gallons of butter and a pottle of honney and some chezes
Item I will and bequethe to Margarett Cooke my goddaughter * fyve shillings to be paide to her at hir age of twentie yeares or at the daye of hir marriage yf she marrye before
* Margaret is the daughter of Gervyce Cooke.

The residue of all my goodes and Cattell unbequethed I will and bequethe to Gervyce Cooke and Clement Cooke my sonnes the whiche Gervyce and Clement I ordeine and make my whole executors of this my last will
