In the name of God Amen the fyfth daie of October in the yere of our Lorde god a thousand fyve hundreth three score and iii [5th October 1563]
I Wyllyam Cooke of the parishe of Godmersham in the Countye of Kente Labourer do ordaine and make this my laste will and testamente in manner and forme followinge
First I bequeath my soule to allmightye god my maker and redemer and my bodye to be buryed in the church yarde of Godmersham

Item I give to Danie Cooke my sonne one table one spicce?

Item I give to Christopher Cooke my sonne all the residue of my movable so that he doe keape me and his mother as long as wee do lyve
And I do give to ye said Christopher my lease of my house yt I dwell in

Their beinge wittnes Arthur Spracklyn? and Robert Cailes

Probatum fuit 14th ? July 1566

Notes:
20th November 1564 Christopher Cooke marries Alyse Chepman (Alice Chapman) at Godmersham.
Christopher is buried there in 1602.
