In the name of God amen in the xxxth of January in the yere of our lord God And in the xxiii yere of the Raigne of our Sovraigne Lady Elizabethe by the grace of [God of] England France and Irelande Queene of the earth [30 Jan 1580/1]
I Symon Cooke of the parishe of Aldington within the Countie of Kent being sicke in bodye but yet thankes bee given unto Allmightie god of good and p�fect remembrance make this my Present testament and last will in maner and forme following
First I bequeath my soule unto Almightie God my maker and Redeemer And my bodye to be buryed within the churchyard of Aldington aforesaid

I will and bequeath to Charytie my daughter ymediately after my decease iii payre of my beste sheets and my beste table clothe with blue stickes [stitches?] one dousen of table napkins ii pewter platters ii pewter dishes

Also I bequeathe to Faythe my wife whom I ordeyne and make my sole executrix of this my last will all my housholde stuffe and ymplements of housholde moveables and goodes that I have my dettes and bequethes paid

I ordayne and make my welbeloved brother Nicholas Cooke Overseer of this my last will and gyve hym for his paynes over and above his charges and expenses in that behalf to be alowed my best cote ymediatly after my decease

This is the last will of my the foresayd Symon Cooke made the day and yere above writen

I will to Faythe my wyfe the moyetie or parte of my house and land in the parish of Wye within the Countie aforesaid during her lyfe keeping the reparacons and paying the Lorde rent during the said termes

Item I will that after the decease of fayth my wyfe my moyetie and parte of my house and land before geven To Charytie my daughter and her heyres for ever Paying to the child my wyfe nowe goethe with yf it be a mayd childe at the age of xvi yeres ten pounds of lawfull money of England yf my wyfe be then deceased yf not to paye it within fyve yeres nexte after the decease of my wyfe I will likewie that yf it shall fortune to be a man childe my wyfe nowe goeth with that he shall have the moyetie of and parte of my house and lands before geven to hym and his heyres for ever After his mothers decease paying out of yt to his Sister Chartyie when she cometh to the age of xvi yeres ten poundes of like money as is before expressed and is before lyminted and apointed

Provided alwayes and it is my will that if it fortune the said ten poundes before geven out of my land to be unpayd by the space of thre monethes in which it ought to be payd being lawfully demanded of her that it shall fortune to be due Then I will she shall enter in and upon the moyetie or parte of the house and land in Wye aforesaid And to holde the one half of the said moyetie or parte for not payment acordinglye to my will to her and her heyres for ever

Charity was christened 22nd Feb. 1578 at Aldington.
