In the name of God Amen In the yeare of our Lord God One Thouand five hundred fourescore and eleven and about Whitsontide in the said churche and also about the seventeenth daie of March last past
Margaret Cooke of the parish of Ospringe being sicke in bodie but of good remembrannce (thanks be to God) made her last will and Testament nuncupative in maner and forme following or by other words like in effects, That is to saie,

First she did give unto her Dame Andrian Daber five pounds to see her honestly buried
Item she did give unto fowre poore men to carie [carry] her body to church fowre shillings
Item she did give her clothes to the poore of Ospringe

Item she did give unto Joane Porter her best petticote save one
Also she willed that certayne payres of gloves and ribbons should be given at her buriall as if it were at her Bridalle, as was done for Elizabeth Gray

Also she did give unto Robert Growbridge (Groombridge?) three pounds
Item shee willed that her donne should give everies one in the house some what (wheat?)
Also she did putt her dame Andrian Daber in trust to see this her will fulfilled

And further she said that her Cosin Rayton should never have penny worthe of her goods if she had a thousand pounds nor Uptons wife his Sister, for she said they woulde not knowe her, when they were in their holidaie clothes because she were poore and Lame

These be my Witnesses
