In the name of God Amen
I Edward Cooke of Cranbrooke in the Countie of Kent beinge sicke of Bodye but of perfect remembrance prayse be unto god allmightye god doe make and ordeyne this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge * as originally written and crossed out
First I will and bequeath my Soule unto allmightyie god my Saviour and redeemer and my body to be buryed in the churchyard of Cranbrooke

Item I will and bequeath unto Mr. Rickard Minster of the worde of God at ye Churche the summe of fortie shillings of lawfull monie to be paid unto hym or his assignes within one yeare next after my decease by my Executors

Item I will and bequeath unto Mr. Eddie Minister of the worde of God at Cranbrooke fortie shillings of like currant monie to be paid unto hym or his assignes likewyse by my Executor within one yeare next after my decease
Item I give unto Mr. Eddie ten shillings for a sermon to be preached at my buriall to be paid unto him by my Executors within tenne daies after my decease

Item I give unto Katheryn Kolfson daughter of Henry Kolfson fortie shillings of currant monie to be paid unto her by my said Executors within one yeare next after my decease

Item I give and bequeath twenty shillings of monie to be imployed and bestowed upon the footwaye from the pynocke besides William Rogers house at Wilsley* and the Bandfyld Style by me Executors discretion within one yeare next after my decease * to the north of Cranbrook

I give and bequeath unto the wyfe of John Bishoppe twentie shillings to be paid unto her by my Executor within one yeare next after my decease or death

Item I give and bequeath unto John Bottinge three pounds of currant monie in consideration of a fynall endinge of all former matters incomeinge with or accompte between the said John Bottinge and me the said Edward Cooke exceptinge all such summes of monie as the said John oweth unto me with three pounds above bequeathed shalbe paid unto the said John or his assignes within one yeare next after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto John Champine? the sone of Stephen Champine? the summe of tenne shillings to be paid unto him by my Executors within one yeare next after my decease
Item I give and bequeath three pounds of lawfull monie to be gyven and bestowed at my buriall at the discretion of my Executors

Item I give and bequeath unto Alexander Smith Weaver tenn shillings
Item I give and bequeath unto John Swanton weaver five shillings
Item I give and bequeath unto the Wyfe of Abraham Beake Shomaker five shillings
Item I give and bequeath unto the wydow of Thomas Criden? of Wylsley five shillings

Item I give unto Susan Frances five shillings
Item I give unto Richard Bottinge the sonne of John Bottinge five shillings
Item I give unto Thomas Denham five shillings
Item I give unto William Write two shillings

Item I give unto Ellenor Goord five shillings
Item I give unto Wydow Tuch five shillings
Item I give unto Samwell Bishoppe ten shillings
Item I give unto Anthonie Smithe tenne shillings
to be paid unto all these Severall parties or there assignes within one yeare next after my death or decease by my said Executors

Item I give unto John Bishoppe the elder of Wylsley three pounds of lawfull monie to be paid at his owne discretion beinge one of my executors
Item I give and bequeath unto the wyfe of John Bottinge abovesaid twentie shillings to be paid unto her by my executors within one yeare next after my decease

Al the rest of my goods, moveables, chattells, debts, dues, rights whatsoever I give and bequeath into John Bishoppe abovesaide and Richard Bushe of the said Wylsely Whome I doe make and ordeyne to be my executors for to receive my debts pay my legacies and to performe this my last will and testament accordinge unto my true intent and meaninge

In Witness whereof I have caused this my last will and testament to be made the three and twentieth daye of Jannuary in the second yeare of the reigne of our Sovereine Lorde James the first by the grace of god Kinge of Englande alias great Britaine Ireland and France defender of the faith anno 1604
