In the name of God Amen the tenth day of Feberye [February] 1616
I James Cook of the p�ish of St. James in Dovor [Dover] beinge whole in body and in p�fect remembrance god be thanked doe make my last will and testament in manner and fourme followinge
First I bequeath my Soule into the hands of the Allmighty my maker and Redeemer by whose death and passion I assure my selfe to be saved

Item I give to Katherine my wife my house by the Brockside in Dovor, where Edward Token [is] now dwelling wth Danie Barnes? my father in lawe bought of was of Sandwich and gave it to my mother his wife and to her heires for ever This house I give to my wife Katherine during her naturall life And after her death I will it to my Children equally divided to them and theirheires for ever

If my Children dye without heires the I give it to my next daughter Katherine Norwood and to her heires for ever

Item al my moveables my debts beinge paid I give to my wife Katherine and this I make my wife my whole Executrix of this my Last will and testament

20th July 1607 James Cook, Mariner married Katherine Norwood, Widow, at St. Mary the Virgin, Dover.
Their known children (all christened St. James, Dover):
3 May 1609 James; 24 May 1611 Rose; 3 Jul 1614 Elizabeth (Bu: 5 Oct 1615); 21 Jul 1616 Ann; 15 Dec 1619 Elizabeth.

James Cook is possibly the son of Thomas Cooke, christened at St. Mary the Virgin, Dover on 10th Jun 1584. Siblings: Marie 2 Mar 1587; Thomas 1 Jun 1589.
Thomas Cook (the father) was christened at St. Mary the Virgin, Dover on 3rd Aug 1560. No parents� names are listed in the register at that time.
