I Thomas Cocke of the parish of Wye in the County of Kent Yeoman beinge weake of body
but of good and p�fect memorye thankes be unto God doe make and odayne this my present
testament conteyning therein my last will renouncing hereby all other wills formerly made in manner and forme followinge
And first I give and bequeath my Soule into the hands of Allmightie God that gave it and
my bodye to be buryed in the earth where it shall please God hopinge and assuring my selfe
by Godsmercy through Christ his meritts to receive them both at the gernerall resurrection to Eternall life
I doe give and bequeath to the poore people of the sayd parish of Wye five pounds to be payd unto them by my Executor within two yeares next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto Thomas Wills of Boughton Aluph five poounds to be
payd unto him by my Executor within one yeare next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto John Wills his brother five poounds to be payd unto him
by my Executor within two yeares next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto Edward Wills his brother five pounds to be payd unto
him by my Executor within three yeares next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto Susan Wills their Sister five pounds to be payd unto her
by my Executor within four yeares next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto Thomas Cooke sonne of Davyd Cooke of Wye my kinsman twenty pounds to be payd unto him by my Executor within four yeares next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto Davyd Lyllye my kinsman five pounds to be payd unto
him by my Executor within one yeare next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Bottle his Syster five pounds to be payd unto
her by my Executor within two yeares next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto the Children of [gap] Paine? of Harbledown Hemp dresser the somme of tenne pounds to be payd unto their fathers hands by my Executor to their use within two yeares next after my decease
Also I doe give unto Sarah Carter the wife of William Carter my late wives eldest daughter the Sume of five pounds to be payd unto her by my Executor within one yeare next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto Anna Carter daughter of the sayd William and Sarah
Carter fourty and two pounds whereof fourtie pounds being in the hands of the sayd
William Carter her father
I will that he shall pay the same unto his sayd daughter Anna Carter at her age of one and twenty yeares or at her day
of mariage which it shall please god shall happen to come first and the other fortie shillings I will shall be payd unto her by my
Executor according as her father should pay the other at the Same Day,
and my will and mynd is that yf the sayd Anna Carter doe dye and depart this life before the sayd sommes of
money be due be payd then I will that the sayd two and fortie pounds shalbe and remayne
to the said William and Sarah Carter or to the Survivor of them
Also I doe give and bequeath unto Margaret Wills Wife of William Wills of Wye my last wives second daughter five pounds to be payd unto her by my Executor within two yeares next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto Benaimen Wills William Robert Elizabeth and Mary Wills Sonnes and Daughters of the sayd William and Margaret Wills to every of them five pounds to be payd into their fathers hands to their use within two yeares next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto Priscilla Cheston wife of William Cheston of Ashford my late wives third daughter the somme of tenn pounds to be payd unto her or her assignes by my Executor within two yeares next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto William Cheston Sonne of the said William and Priscilla Cheston tenn pounds to be payd into his fathers hands by my Executor within two yeares next after my decease
Also I doe give unto Anna Everett wife of Edward Everett my late wives young daughter tenn pounds to be payd unto her by my Executor within two yeares next after my decease
Also I doe give and bequeath unto Rachell Dawson and Ann Dawson Daughters of Roger Dawson my late wives eldest sonne to either of them five pounds Also which tenn pounds Between the sayd Rachell and Ann Dawson is alreadye in Roger Dawson their fathers hands that I stand engaged for the payment of and that my will and mynd is that their father Roger Dawson shall pay it unto them and my Executor shall not stand chardged to pay it unto them or any of them
Also I doe give and bequeath unto George Dawson my late wives youngest sonne one bedstedle one bed one boldster one Crondlid two blanketts and one payer of sheets that Rebecca Lowes did use in my house when she was abyding there for her lodgeinge and also one cubbard and one settle
And all the residue of all my househould stuffe I will shalbe equally divided betweene
Roger Dawson Sarah Carter Margaret Wills Priscilla Cheston and Anna Everett equally betwene them
And my will and mynd is that yf they cannot agree about the shiftnge of the
said househoulde stuffe betweene themselves then my will and mynd is that my Executor
shall instruct two men to devyde it for them and that they shall stand to such shift as they shall make
And the Residue of all my goods Cattell and chattells not before given I doe give wholy unto George Dawson my late wives youngest sonne whom I make and appoynt my sole Executor of this my last will and Testament
This is also the last will and of mee the sayd Thomas Cocke made and declared the daye and yeare first above written of and concerning all my messuages and lands lyinge and beinge in the parish of Wye before written
And first I doe give and bequeath unto George Dawson and Thomas Dawson sonnes of the before named Roger Dawson all that my Tenement or Messuage with the backsyde belonginge and one Hemp S__ott? (word not found) with a little buildinge one the othersyde the street towards the Church and late in the occupation of William Carter to have to them and to their heires for ever
And the residue of all my Messuages and Lands in Wye aforesayd I doe give unto the foresayd George Dawson and to his heires for ever to the performinge of this my p�sent testament and last will and the paying of the legacys before given
And further my will and mynd is that yf the sayd George Dawson doe not pay the legacys before given according to the true meaning of my sayd gifte beinge thereunto required by the partie or partyes to whom the same are given, but shall putt off with delayes aboe the space of one whole moneth after the same shalbe due, that then I will and my mynde is, that notwithstandinge the former gift with the sayd George of my said Messuages and lands it shall be lawfull by this my present Will And I doe give full power an authoritye unto William Wills of Wye before named that he shall enter into all that my Messuages and land before to the sayd George Dawson given and shall sell the same to the best price he can, and deliver after thereof accordinge to lawe, and shall with the money thereof discharge all such legacys as be before in this my present Testament and last Will formerly given and not payd by the said George
And I doe give unto the said William Wills for his paynes to be taken herein thirteene pounds six shillings and eight pence
And the Residue of the money of the sale of the sayd Messuage and Lands (yf any remayne)
I will shall remayne to the said George Dawson and his heires
In Witnesse to tis my present testament and last Will I have hereunder set my hand and
