In the name of God Amen The xxth day of February in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred twenty and one
I Jonas Cooke of the parish of Eleham [Elham] in the County of Kent Collar maker being sick in my bodye but of good and p�fect remembrance thanks be to God doe make this my testament and last will in manner and forme following
First and before all things I bequeath my Soule in to the hands of Allmightie God beseaching him for his sonne Jesus Christ save to be mercifull unto mee and to forgive mee all my sinnes, and offence, and to receive my Soule into his mercy and peace for ever And my bodye to be buryed in the Church yard of Eleham aforesaid or else wyse [if] it shall please Allmightie god
Now and concerninge my moveable goods wherewith the Lord has blessed mee and made mee a Steward of I give and bequeath as followeth

Item I give and bequeath unto Jonas my sonne one Cubbord or Presse standing in the hall in my now dwelling house
Item I give and bequeath unto Ellenor my daughter one bedstedle with the fetherbed and all other things thereinto belonging standing in the Chamber in the sayd house wherein Gillian my wife doth use to lye uppon

Item I give and bequeath unto Sarah my daughter one bedstedle whereupon I lye with the fetherbed and all the things thereunto belonging
Item I give and bequeath unto Agnes my daughter one wyne table standing in the foresayd hall of my nowe dwelling house

All the Residue of my moveable goods, money, chattells, plate, Annuityes and housholde stuffe, my debts legacys and bequeathes paid, I give and bequeath unto the sayd Gillian my wife
And I doe make and ordayne the said Gillian my wife Sole Executrix of this my Testament and last will

And my will and meaning is that my foresayd wife shall have the use and reparacon of all my sayd goods and chattells before given to my sayd Children during all the tearme of her naturall life for and toward the bringing up of my fore sayd Children

Provided allwayes that yf it shall happen that the sayd Gillian my wife shall happen to be marryed unto another man or yf one Annuitye or yearely rent of Tenn pounds which I have out of the Messuages or Tenements and Lands late of Alexander Ginder of Eleham aforesayd Yeoman deceased be payd and discharged
Then I will that before such marriage the sayd Gillian my wife shall enter into sufficient bond unto Phillipe Wright and Edward Brett of Eleham aforesayd Yeoman or their Executors to the use of my sayd Children to pay unto eyther of my said Children within one moneth next after the decease of my foresayd wife twenty and five pounds of good and lawfull money of England

But if the sayd Annuitye or yearely rent of tenn pounds be not payd and discharged as aforesayd Then I give and bequeath the sayd annuitye or yearlie Rent of tenn pounds unto my foresaid four Children equally to them and their heires and assignes for ever after the decease of my foresayd wife

Notes:
Jonas Cooke was buried at St. Mary the Virgin, Elham on 27th February 1621.
I cannot find his christening in Kent, nor marriage to a Gillian anywhere in England.
