In the name of God Amen the fifteene day of January in the xviith yeare of the reigne of our Souveraigne Lord Jeames by the grace of god of England ffrance and Ireland kinge defender of the ffaith of Scotland the fiftie? these 1619
I John Cooke of the parish of Whye being sicke of bodie yett of perfect memorie thankes be given unto god doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following
First I Bequeath my Soule into the handes of Allmightie god my maker and Redeemer and my bodie to be buried in the parish Churchyard of Wye

Item I will that all such debts and legacies as I give of Right or Conscience to any person or persons be well and trulie sent out or paid and satisfied by myne Executor hereafter names without any delay when they are of right to be paid and after my debts be paid and my Severall expenses Discharged

Imprimis I give unto my now wedded wife Susanne Cooke all that my Messuage with the outhouses and the land there belonginge scituate in Wye durigne her naturall life if shee live solo and unmarried
Item my will and meaninge is That if the said Susanne my wife shall happen to marie and take to her husband then my mynde and will is That shee shall paie out of the house and landes aforesaid unto my eldest daughter Susanna Cooke fortie shillinges by the yeare after that my said daughter cometh to the age of Twentie and one yeares or be married whichever shall first happen

Item I give unto my daughter Jane Cooke the sume of Three score poundes To bee paid unto her at the age of twenty and one yeares or att the daie of Marriage
Item my mynd and will is That if eyther of my said daughters shall happen to dye before they shall come unto the said age of twenty and one yeares or before their time that they be married That then the Survivor shall have the others Three score att the age or time of marriage before specified

Item I give unto my Sister Brickendens sonne William the sum of forties shillinges To be paid unto him three yeares after my decease

Item touching my house? and landes before menconed I give unto my daughter Susanne Cooke and to the heires of her bodie lawfully begotten for ever and for want of such heires I give to my daughter Jane Cooke And to her heires of her bodie lawfullie begotten for ever

And further of this my last will and Testament I make and ordaine my truste and beloved wife Susanna Cooke to whome I give all my goodes and chattells unbequeathed myne whole and sole executor

And my Messuage and landes Hamon Vigeon of Lymminge and Edward Ingrant of Wye And my brother in law John Younge of Godmersham myne Overseers
Provided also that she my wife shall fortune to marie againe after my death I will that hee and shee that shee shall soo marrie to be bound in sufficient Securities to my poore Peers before named in a sufficient bond for the payment of my daughters legacies and other forenamed legacies
