The last will and testament Nuncpative of William Cooke late of the parishe of St. Dunstance neee and without the walls of the City of Canterbury deceased by him uttered and declared the same day hee dyed being then sicke and weake in body but of perfect memory with an interest and purpose to make his will and to dispose of his estate in these words following (or the like effect or substance) That is to say

hee gave unto every of his children twelve pence apeece

and the residue of his goods and chattells so that sooner hee willed and bequeathed unto Alice his wife in the presence of those whose names are under written

Notes:
William Cooke only married Alice Bateman in 1638 � on 25th January at St. Dunstan.
Children may have been born to a previous wife, and christened St. Alphage?
