In the name of God Amen The eight and twentieth day of October Anno Dini 1639 And in the yeare of the raigne of our Sovraigne Lord Charles by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland Kinge Defender of the faith etc. the fifteenth
I Thomas Cooke of Milton als Middleton in the county of Kent Gent [Gentleman] being weake and sicke in body but of sound and perfect memory (praysed bee God) doe make and declare this my testament and last will in manner and forme following (That is to say)
First and above all thigs I comend my Soule into the hands of Allmighty God my Creator and blessed Redeemer And my body to the earth to be decently interred after the manner of Christian buryall

Item I make and ordaine my loveing Wife Jane Cooke Executrix of this my last will and testament
Item I doe give and bequeath the summe of twenty shillings to bee distributed by my said Executrix to some poore Widowes of Milton afforesaid
Item I give and bequeath unto my mother in lawe Xpian [Christian] Cooke widow tenn pounds

Item I doe give and bequeath to my Sister Lucy Drawley * fowre pounds a yeare to bee paid unto her by my Executrix at foure payments in the yeare by equall prcons dureing the terme of her naturall life to bee paid at or in the now dwelling house of the said Xpian Cooke being the Signe of the Chequer in Thames Streete, London The first payment thereof to begin and bee made within one and twenty dayes next after the first quarter of a yeare next ensueing my decease [* Surname unclear]

And if it shall happen the said Annual Sum of fowre pounds or any pte [part] thereof to bee unpaid above the space of one and twenty dayes next after every of any quarter day of payment as afforesaid Then my will is that my said Executrix shall pay or cause to bee paid to the said Xpian Cooke and to Thomas Cooke thelder of London Marie Cooper their Executors or administrators the sume of one hundred pounds

And my will further is that the said Xpian Cooke and Thomas Cooke shall put forth the said one hundred pounds And the whole p�fit and interest thereof shall from time to time pay or cause to bee paid to the said Luce Drawley duringe the terme of her naturall life and at foure dayes or termes of payment as afforesaid

And after the decease of the said Lucy I will the said hundred pounds shall returne and bee repaid to my said Executrix or her Assignes

Item I give and bequeath to my Sister Xpian Cooke twenty pounds

Item I doe permitt and forgive the afforesaid Thomas Cooke the sume of five pounds which hee owth me upon Condicon hee shall likewise permitt & acquite my Executrix of the debt due to him which I [consider] to bee about twenty shillings

Item I doe permitt and forgive Thomas Cooke the Younger the debt due to me upon the like condicon that hee shall permitt and acquitt my said Executrix that which I owe to him

Item I doe give and bequeath to Frances Humpfreye the wife of ______ humfreye a Coachmaker twenty shillings
Item I give to Roger Barton the elder five shillings
Item to John Medler five shillings
Item to John Mewting six shillings
Item to Beniamin Dowle tenn shillings
Item to Samuell Woodley of Sittingbourne tenn shillings
Item to Henry Carter tenn shillings
Item to Edmond Smith twenty shillings

Item I give to my Servant John Turke five pounds upon Condicon hee shall well and faithfully serve my said Executrix during the residue of his terme hee hath to serve mee if my said wife shall so long sell wine

In Witnes whereof I the said Thomas Cooke have hereunto sett my hand and Seale the daye and yeare first above written

Notes:
Thomas Cooke was buried 14th November 1639 at Holy Trinity, Milton-next-Sittingbourne.
The remainder of the family are not found � possibly from London?
