In the name of God Amen the fourteenth day of October on the Fiffteenth yeare of the Raigne of our Sovereigne Lord Charles by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc. Anno Dini One Thousand Sixe hundred Thirty and Nyne
I Ellen Cooke of the parish of Ash under Sandwch [Sandwich] in the County of Kent Widdow the Relict of Thomas Cooke of the said parish of Ash, Yeoman, deceased being sicke of body but of sound and perfect remembrance, thankes be given to Almighty God, do make and ordayne this my last will and Testament in manner and forme Following
First I bequeath my Soule to God that gave it wth an assured hope that aftr this mortall life is ended I shall enter into everlasting joy purchased for me by Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redemer I committ my body to the earth whereof it was first Framed to be buried in a decent manner at the descretion of my Executors hereafter named

�Item I give and bequeath to every one of the sonnes of George Minter of the said parishe of Ashe, That is to say, to Henry Minter Robert Minter and George Minter the sume of Fiffty shillings apeece of Lawfull mony to be resectively paid unto them by myne Executors hereafter named wthin one yeare next aftr my descease

Item I give to Thomas Yewell Margaret Yewell and Ann the now wife of Hnery Lockett of the parish of Herne in the said County of Kent and to James the sone of Elisabeth the wife of Vincent Reynolds of the said parish of Ash, the sume of Fiffty shillings apeece of lawfull mony to bee respectively paid them by myne Executors hereinafter named wthn one yeare next after my descease" [End crossing out.]

Item I give unto John Adams and Mary Adams the sonne and daughter of my Brother Thomas Adams of the parish of Ash aforesaid, yeoman, whome after in my will I have apointed to be myne executor the some of Tenn poundes apeece to be respectively paid unto them by my said Executor wthin one yeare next after my descease

"Item I give unto Alice the now wife of William Adams of the said parish of Ash, husbandman, the sume of Fiffty shillings of lawfull mony to be paid unto her by myne Executor wthin one yeare next after my descease

Item I give unto Ann Macher the daughter of Roger Macher of Ash desceased the sume of Fiffty shillings of lawfull mony to be paid unto her by myne Executor wthin one yeare next after my descease"

Item my minde and will is that my said Brother Thomas Adams shall have hold occupy and enioy untill St. Michaell Tharchangle [The Archangel] next Followingafter my descease my house that I dwell in and all my landes and Tenements that I hould by one lease belonging to Mr. Engham and that the Corne growing upon the said lease landes or any of them at the time of my death shall be by the praysors [appraisers] of my goods valued and praysed and according to the vlaue and rate thereof my said Brother Thomas Adams shalbe chargeable and accomptable to my legatees for the beter accomplishment and fullfilling of this my Will and the payment of myn Legacies herein devised and my minde is that he shall deduct and defaulte soe much out of the benefitt of the same Corne for the discharging of the yearely rent payabe to the said Landlord at the said Feast of St. Michaell next comming after my descease wch my intencon is hee shall accordingly pay

Item I give and bequeath to my said Brother Thomas Adams Twenty poundes
all the residue and remaynder of my goods Chattls and personal Estate my debts funerall and legacies discharged and paid I doe wholy give unto Richard Sander & Mercy my Sisters sonne and daughter equally to be devided betweene them by myne Executor wthin one yeare next after my descease

And as touching the disposcion of al my landes and tenements whatsoeverI give and bequeath them as Followeth

Imprimis I give and bequeath all my landes and tenements and hereditaments whatsoever wth theire Appurtences [Appurtenances] sett lying and being at a place called �Coupse Streete� in Ash aforesaid and now in the severall occupacons of William Lull, Peter Gouldup, Widdow Bartlett or theire assignes unto John Claringboule my Sister Marys sonne and to the heries of his body lawfully begotten for ever

Item I give and bequeath all my landes wth thappurtenncs [the appurtenances] lyeing at or neere a places called Hills Downe* in Ash aforesaid now in the occupacon of the aforesaid Thomas Adams to Richard Sander sonne of my aforesaid Sister Mary and to the heires of his body lawfully begotten
* Still exits to the East of Ash.

And for want of such yssue unto Mercie Sander his Sister and to the heires of her body lawfully begotten and for want of such yssue I doe give the one halfe of the said land last menconed unto the said Thomas Addams his heries and assignes for ever and the other halfe thereof I doe give unto the said John Claringbould his heires and assignes for ever

Item I give and bequeath all my landes Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever wth theire appurtenncs [appurtenances] called and knowne by the name of Harkny Meade in Ash aforesaid and now in the occupacon of the said Thomas Adams or his assignes unto the said Mercie the daughter of my Sister Mary [Sander] aforesaid and now the wiffe of John Reignolds & to the heires of her body lawfully begotten and for want of such yssue unto the said Richard Sander and to heries of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such yssue I doe give the one halfe thereof unto the said Thomas Adams his heires and assignes for ever & that other hale thereof unto the said John Claringboild his heires and assignes for ever

I doe give and bequeath unto Richard Cooke sonne of Osmond Cooke late of Sholden deceased & to his heires and assignes for ever All my messuages landes and tenements whatsoever wth theire and every of theire appurtenns [appurtenances] sett lyeing and being in the parish of St. Mary the Virgine in the Towne and Port of Sandwch [Sandwich] in the County of Kent

And I doe ordaine constitute and appoint my said loving Brother Thomas Adams sole Executor of this my last will hereby revoking and disannulling all former Wills by me made
