Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Miles Cooke the Sume of Fiftie pounds to be paid into the hands of my Cozen Mr. Thomas Miles of the towne of Lidd and in the said Countie twelve moneths after my decease
And my will and meaninge is that my said Wife Mary Cooke shall have the profitts of the said fiftie pounds for the bringing up the said Miles till the said Miles my sonne shall attaine to the age of on and twentie yeares at which age my will and meaning is that hee shall have the said Fifty pounds at his owne disposure
And if it shall happen that my said sonne Miles to dye before hee attaine to the ae of on and twentie yeares That then my will and meaning is that if my wife be with Child that then That child shall have and enioy the said portion of Fiftie pounds when hee or shee shall attaine to the age of one and twentie yeares
But if it shall please God that both my said Children shall dye before they attaine to theire Severall ages aforesaid That then my will and meaning is That my Cozen Martha the younger daughter of my brother Henry Cooke shall have thirtie pounds of the said Fiftie and Elizabeth the Eldest daughter of my said Brother Henry Cooke shall have twentie pounds the remaynder of the said fiftie when they and either of them attaine to the age of one and twentie yeares
All the rest of my goods Cattell and Chattells my debts and funerall expenses being paid I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Cooke myne Executrix of this my Testament and last will
And also my meaning is that if it shall happen that my mother Anne Cooke shall dye before my sonne Miles Cooke and my other child attaine to the age of on and twentie yeares that then my beloved wife Mary shall have the proffits of my lands to bring up my said Children and if the Child shee goeth with be a male Child my will is that hee shall have and enioy an miotie (moiety) of the lands of right belonging to mee and my brother Henry Cooke after my said mother decease and shalbe jonyt heire with my said Eldest sonne Miles in the said lands
and if the child be a daughter my wife goes with That then shee shall have tenn pounds parte of the said Fiftie above given to my sonne Miles to be paid to her at the age of one and twentie yeares
and if myne Executrix shall refuse to pay the said Fiftie pounds or to give such Securitie as shalbe thought fitt at the tyme aforesaid that then it shall and may be lawfull to and for my said Cozen Miles to take the best course the law hath provided for the obtaining of the said Fiftie pounds to be imployed to the use aforesaid
And I doe make null and void all former wills and deeds whatsoever and doe make this my last will and Testament

This will was proved at London before the Judges for probate of Wills and granting Administration lawfully Authorised the nynteenth day of November in the yeare of our Lord One thousand Six hundred Fiftie Five by the oath of Mary Cooke the Relict of the said decease and Sole Executrix named in the Said will To whom was committed Administration of all and Singular the goods Chattells and debts of the said deceased shee being First legaly sworne (by Commission) well and truly to administer the same.
This Ninth day of Aprill 1659 issued forth L[ett]ers of Ad[ministra]con to Henry Cooke ye Unckle and Curator lawfully Assigned to Miles Cooke a minor the naturall and lawfull Sonn of John Cooke deceased To A'ster ye goods ch'ells and debts of ye said deceased (which were left unadministered by Mary Cooke ye relict & sole Executrix etc) dureing the minority of ye sd minor hee ye sd Henry being first by common sworn duly to administer.
