In the name of God Amen I Thomas Cooke of Godmersham in the County of Kent, Collarmaker being Sicke in body but of perfect memory, praised be God, doe make, ordaine and declare this my last will and testament in manner and forme following
First I resigne my Soule into the hands of Almighty God and I give my body to be buryed in decent and Christian manner, according to the discretion of my executrix hereafter named

And as for my estate, first I will and give unto my wife Margaret Cooke the lease of my Messuage and lands in Godmersham during her naturall? life?
And after her decease I will and give the said lease of my said messuage and lands unto my sonne Robert Cooke and to his heirs

Item I will and give unto my said sonne Robert Cooke all my working tooles belonging to my trade and all the harness & leather and other goods belonging to my said calling of a Collarmaker

Item I will and give my sonne William Cooke one cow to be delivered by my said executrix
Item I will and give unto my said sonne William Cooke the sum of Forty Shillings to be paid by my said executrix within Twelve moneths after my decease
Item I will and give unto my daughter Margret Pilcher the wife of George Pilcher one cow to be delivered by my said executrix

All the rest and residue of my ready money, Debts, plate and personall estate whatsoever to me belonging at the time of my death, I will and give the same unto my said Wife Margret Cooke, my debts, legacyes and funerall expenees being first taken and deducted out of the same

And I doe nominate and appoint my said wife Margret Cooke sole executrix of this my last will and testament

This is the last will and testament of me Thomas Cooke whereunto I have set my hand and seale the Sixteenth day of September In the two and Twentieth yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the Second by the grace of God of England Scotland France & Ireland being Defender of the faith, etc. Anno dini 1670.
