In the name of God Amen I Thomas Cooke of the parish of Birchington in the Isle of Thanett in the County of Kent weaver being sicke of body but of sound and perfect memory praised be the Lord therefore doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme following (That is to say)
First and before all earthly things I commend my soule into the hands of our blessed Saviour and redeemer Jesus Christ trusting assuredly through his death and bitter passion to be made heire of life everlasting and my body to be decently buried in the Churchyard of Birchington at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jane the wife of Henry Graye one shilling of lawfull money of England to be paid her by my Executrix hereafter named

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Alice one shilling of lawfull money of England to be paid her by my Executrix hereafter named within one month next after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha one shilling of lawfull money of England to be paid her by my Executrix hereafter named within one month next after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary one shilling of lawfull money of England to be paid her by my Executrix hereafter named within one month next after my decease

Item I give and bequeath all the parts of my messuages or Tenements backsides yards outhouses edifices buildings and land thereunto belonging and premises with thappurtenacnes thereunto belonging scituate lying and being in any parte of the County of Kent aforesaid whether purchased by myselfe onely or my nowe wife Martha a ioynt purchaser unto my wife Martha forever
whome I make and ordaine my full and sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament desiring her to perforyme the same according to my true intent and meaning

In Witnes whereof I the said Thomas Cooke have hereunto sett my hand and seale the eight and twentieth day of August Anno Dini 1669 and in the one and Seventeenth yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the second now King over England etc.

Thomas Cooke was christened 25th Jun 1609, s. of William at Minster in Thanet.
31st Oct 1633 Thomas Cooke m. Martha Covell at Minster in Thanet.

Alice 12 Oct 1635 (Bu: 8 Aug 1637); Robert 9 Jul 1637 (Bu: 12 Oct 1640); Elizabeth 13 Nov 1642 (Bu: 20 Sep 1663); Martha 25 Mar 1645 (Bu: 16 Apr 1650);
Those children who survived:
Jane 14 Feb 1647; Alice 20 Sep 1649; Martha 2 Mar 1652; Mary 27 Jan 1655.

Jane Cook, Sp., 17, d. of Thomas Cook, Husbandman of Birchington married Henry Gray, 22, Joiner of Birchington at Monkton on 31 Dec 1663. She appears to be dead before 11th Jan 1687.
Alice Cook married John Mackney 4 Aug 1678 at Birchington;
Martha Cook married Thomas Griggs 23 Dec 1677 at Birchington;
Mary Cook, Sp. married Valentine Garrett, Ba., both of Birchington, at St. Andrew, Canterbury by Licence on 30 Apr 1685.

Thomas Cooke was buried at Birchington on 8 May 1670.
Martha Cooke was buried at Birchington on 5 February 1688/9.
