In the name of God Amen the one and Twentieth day of Aprill accordinge to the computation of the Church of England 1673
I John Cooke of Rolvenden in the County of Kent yeoman being of perfect memory and remembrance (praised be God) doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme followinge
First I bequeath my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker hopeing that through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my onely Saviour and Redeemer to receivee free pardon and forgivenesse of all my Sinnes And as for my body to be buried in Christian buriall at the discrecon of my Executrix hereafter nominated

Item I give unto my Sonne John my house and barne and Three peeces and parcells of land next adioyninge to the house and barne with the Orchard belonging to it

Item I give unto the child which my wife is great withall One Feild called the Matsfeild being by estimacon Foure acres and in case that child doe departe this life without heires of his or her body, that then my mind is it shall reterne to my sonne John

Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth the Sume of Fifty pounds to be paid unto her at the age of Eighteene yeares or at the daye of her miarrage, which shall happen first by my Executrix hereafter nominated, and in case this my daughter should live to accomplish to the age of Eighteene yeares or to be married then my will is it shallbe equally devided to those Children which doe remaine

Item I give unto my wife Elizabeth all the rest of my goods and chattells whatsoever paying and discharging all my debts and Funerall And I make her my Sole Executrix of this my laste will and Testament, revokeinge all other wills and Testaments, and my mind and will is that my brother James Chittenden and my brother James Cornhill should be my Overseers of this my will and Testament

Notes:
John Cooke married Elizabeth Henden October 1660 at Rolvenden.
John was buried 5 May 1673 at Rolvenden
Children are difficult to determine as parents names are often not given in early Rolvenden christenings, however:
25 Apr 1673 C Pearsis Cooke (female) to John and Elizabeth at Rolvenden and is buried there: 24 Sep 1673.
I have also the burial of a son, Richard (christening not found): 26 Oct 1672.
