In the name of God Amen I Susan Cooke of Ashford in the County of Kent Spinster being in perfect health and memory doe make and ordaine this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following
Imprimis I comitt my Soule into the hands of Almightie God hopeing to be saved by the alone merritts of Jesus Christ my alone saviour my body I comitt unto the earth from whence it was taken and to be decently buried in the parish church where it shall please god to take away my soule by my Executor hereafter named

Item I give unto my godsonne John Hope sonne of Frederick Hope of Canterbury tenne pounds to be paid him by my Executor hereafter named at his age of one and twentie yeares

Item I give and bequeathe unto Isaac Brattle son of James Brattle late of Ashford aforesaid tenn pounds to be paid unto him in twelve monethes after my decease by my Executor

Item I give unto Lidia Tillman the daughter of Samuell Tillman of Ashford deceased tenn pounds to bee paid unto her in 12 months after my decease by my Executor

Item I give and bequeath unto the five children of my kinsman Stephen Clarke of Godmersham that is to say unto Robert Clarke Stephen Clarke Henry Clarke Thomas Clarke and Elizabeth Clarke Five pounds apiece to bee paid unto them that shall attaine there age of one and twenty yeares in twelve monethes after my decease and unto the rest at the age of one and twentie yeares by my executor

Item I give unto Mary Brickenden of Wye widdow twentie shillings to be payd to her one yeare after my death by my executor

Item I give unto the poore of the parish where it shall please God I shall depart this naturall life in forty shillings to bee paid in two monethes after my death by my executor into the Churchwardens and Overseers and by them to be distributed as they shall thinke fit amongst the said poore people
Item I give and bequeath unto the minister that shall preech my funerall sermon twenty shillings to bee paid within twelve moneth after my decease unto him by my said Executor

Item I make and ordaine Frederick Hope of Canterbury Woolcomber my whole and sole Executor of this my Last will and Testament and give him full and absolute power for to sell my house and Land lyeing and being in Wye in the said County of Kent within one yeare after my decease Also I give all the household stuffe goods and chattells bills bonds and money whatsoever he paying my debts and Legacies Funerall chardges and the proveing of my said will and Testament
And I doe hereby renounce and revoke all other will or wills by mee heretofore made and doe ratifie and confirme this to be my Last will and Testament

Item I doe request and appoint John Sherwood of Ashford in the said County of Kent Clothier to be my Overseer of this my said will and Testament to see the same executed and fullfilled and to be aideing and assissting my Executor and I will unto him for his paines Twentie shillings to be paid unto him by my Executor within two moneths after my decease

In Witness unto this my Last Will and Testament I sett hereunto my hand and seale dated this fourth day of September in the twentie fifth yeare of the raigne of Charles the second by the grace of God King of England and soe forth and in the yeare of our Lord Christ One thousand Six hundred and Seavanty and three - Susan Cooke

Elizabeth Sherwood by her marke - John Sherwood - Hugh Turner - Mary Sherwood
