IN the name of God Amen The eight and Twentyeth day of July in the yeare of our Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord James the Second by the grace of god of England Scotland France and Ireland king defender of the Faith etc. the first Anno dim. 1685
I William Cooke of Willesborro in the county of Kent yeoman being sick in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory Thankes be rendered to Allmighty God for the same and considering the uncertainty of this Life and that it is appointed for all men once to dye do therefore make and ordayne this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following, and I do willingly and with a free heart render my soule into the hands of allmighty God and my body I comitt to the earth from whence it came to be decently buried according to the direction of my Executrix hereafter named
And touching my Estate which it hath pleased allmighty God to blesse me withall in this world I give and bequeathe as followeth

Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my mother Jone Fearne the Sume of Three pounds yearly during the Terme of her naturall life quarterly to be payd The first payment thereof to begin and be made open such day in the yeare as shall be a quarter of a yeare after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Phebe the Sume of one hundred pounds of Lawfull money of England to be paid her at her day of Marriage or age of Eighteen yeares which shall first happen and in the meantime my Executrix to maintaine her without deducting any part or parcell of her porcon for the same

And my will and meaning is and I do hereby appointe my Executrix to put out to interest of my money or moneys to be raised by my goodes the sume of fifty pounds of like money and the interest thereof I do appoint for the payment of the said Three pounds yearly as aforesaid to be payed unto my said mother

And after the decease of my said mother I give and bequeath the said fifty pounds unto my said daughter Phebe
And my will and meaning is and I do hereby will that if my said daughter Phebe shall depart this life before her said age or be marryed as aforesaid, That then I give and bequeath unto George and Elizabeth Page my sisters children the sumes of Fifty pounds a piece of like money part of my said daughters porcon so dyeing

But if it happen that my now wife Phebe shall have other issue by me a son or a daughter that then my will and meaning is and I doe hereby give unto each issue the said Sume of one hundred and fifty pounds hereby given unto my said daughter Phebe as aforesaid in case my said daughter Phebe shall dye as aforesaid

But if it happen I shall have such issue as aforesaid and my said daughter Phebe shall live to the said Age and such issue a daughter shall also live that then I give unto such my daughter one moiety of my said daughter Phebe�s porcon given to her as aforesaid

Item I give unto the said George Page all my wearing apparell immediately after my decease
And the rest of my goods and chells [chattels] whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my said loveing wife Phebe whom I make and ordaine Sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament

In Witness whereof to this my last will and Testament I have sett my hand and seale dated the day and yeare first above written William Cooke

Phebe Cook, widow of Willesborough, re-married 8th September 1691 to Sam(uel) Smith, aged 40, Yeoman of Bethersden.

Elizabeth Cook, aged 26 of Willesborough, married Thomas Page [Paige], Cordwainer aged 24 of Willesborough at St. Mary Breadman, Canterbury on 13th Jan. 1670.
Children: George (c. 8 Jan 1671); Elizabeth � (c. 27 Sep 1674 - b.1 May 1675) and 28 May 1676.
