In the name of God Amen
I Henry Cooke of Hothfield in the County of Kent Yeoman being sick and weake in body but of sound and p�fect memory God be praised make my last will and testament in manner and forme following that is to say
First I recomend my soule into the hands of Almighty God assuredly trusting and though the onely merritts of Jesus Christ my onely Saviour and redeemer to be saved and my body I comitt to the earth decently to be buryed by my Executor hereinafter named and my temporall estate I devise give and bequeath as hereafter followeth That is to say

first I give and bequeath unto my daughter Margarett Cooke the sume of fifty pounds of Lawfull money of England to be paid unto her by my Executors within one yeare next after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne John Cooke all my working tools belonging to the wheelwright trade and noe other

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Gilbert twelve pence of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her within one month next after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing wife Alice twenty shillings of Lawfull mony of England to be paid within three months next after my decease

Item I make and ordaine my son in Lawe Stephen Beane and my daughter Frances Cooke joynt Executors of this my last will and testament And I doe hereby make void all former wills by me made.

Item I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Frances Cooke my said Executor all that my Messuage or Tenement called Bovenden with the barns stables orchard and Lands thereunto belonging And also all other my messuages and Lands and Tenements and reall estate whatsoever and wheresoever being to be by them sold for and towards the payment of my debts and Legacys aforesaid

Item my will and meaning is that after my debts and legacies as aforesaid and the charges of my Funerall and probate of this my will are pad and discharged the remainder of the moneys ariseing by sale of my reall and personall estate shall be equally devided between my said Sone in Law Stephen Beane and my said two daughters Frances Cooke and Margarett Cooke

Henry Cooke of Charing married Jane Sympson of Hothfeld on 23rd May 1657 at St. Margaret, Canterbury. Known children (where c = christening):

Henry�s first wife Jane is buried at Hothfield 28 Aug 1678, and Henry is buried there on 9 Feb 1692. Henry re-marries to Alice Denton 1 Jan 1682, at Hothfield.
Unfound daughter Elizabeth Cooke marries Richard Gilbert, widower of Aldington, at St. Paul, Canterbury 20 Sep 1673.
Daughter Jane Cooke marries Stephen Beane 21 Oct 1686 at St. Margaret, Canterbury � He is of Aldington.
