In the name of God Amen the Twenty ninth day of August in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred ninety and three
I Elizabeth Cook, now in Barham in the County of Kent, widdow, being infirme in body but of sound and perfect memory, minding the uncertain state of this transitory life, and that all flesh must yeild to death when it shall please God to call, and being desirous to settle things in order, doe make my last will and Testament in manner and forme following, revoking and annullling by these p�sents all and every Testament and Testaments will or wills heretofore by me made and declared either by word or by writing
And first I bequeath my soule to Almighty God my maker and to Jesus Christ my Redeemer and to the Holy Ghost my sanctifier and my body to the earth from whence it came to be decently buryed under the same stone in the vault of St. Faiths under St. Paul�s Church in London where the body of my late dear husband Mr. Thomas Cooke, late of Bobbing Place lieth interred if I shall happen to die in the City of London or Suburbs thereof
But if it shall please God I shall die in any other place then to be buried in such decent and Christian manner in the parish Church belonging to that place where I shall happen to die as to my Executor hereafter named shall be thought meete and convenient there to rest untill my soul and body shall meet againe and be ioyned [joined] together at the ioyfull resurrection and be made partakers of the never fading pleasures of immortality which God in [his] mercy through the merits of Jesus Christ alone hath promised and prepared for all those that truely and unfeignedly repent and believe in him
And as for the personal estate which it hath pleased God to bestow on me I give and bequeath the same as hereafter in this my last will is menconed

and First I give and bequeath to my beloved dear and onely daughter Mrs. Elizabeth Pigott the wife of the Reverend John Pigott of Barham in the County of Kent, Clerke the sume of three hundred pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid to her by my Executor hereinafter named in three monthes next after my decease and all my Plate Rings Jewells and living of what kinde soever to be wholely and entirely att her dispos [disposal?] to give and dispose at her death amongst her Children as she shall thinke fitt and convenient

Item I give to my Grandchild Richard Piggot their eldest son Fifty pounds of like lawfull money to be paid to him by my Executor when he shall attaine the age of one and twenty yeares, but that when he shall attaine the age of sixteene I will that my said Executor do pay unto him lawfull interest for the said Fifty pounds yearly and every yeare untill the said Richard Pigott for attain to the age of one and twenty yeares

And in case the said Richard Pigott doe die before he attain the age of one and twenty yeares then I give and bequeath the said Fifty pounds so as aforesaid given unto the said Richard Pigott unto my Grandchild Hollis Pigott second son of my said daughter to be paid to the said Hollis Pigott by my said Executor when he shall attaine the age of one and twenty yeares, and that the interest thereof shall yearly and every yeare from the death of the said Richard Pigott be paid by my said Executors to the said Hollis Pigott until he attain to the age of one and twenty yeares

Item I give unto the said Hollis Piggot my Grandchild the summ of Fifty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto him by my Executor when he shall attaine the age of one and twenty yeares And my mind and will is tat when my Grandchild Hollis Pigott shall attaine the age of sixteene yeares that then my said Executor shall pay unto him yearly and every yeare lawfull interest for the said Fifty pounds untill he shall attain to the age of one and twenty yeares

And in case the said Hollis Pigott shall dy and depart this life before [he] shall attaine to the age of one and twenty yeares, then my mind and will, and I do give and bequeath the said Fifty pounds so to him given as aforesaid unto my said Grandchild Richard Pigott if he then be living, and if he be then dead, then I give and bequeath the same unto my Grandchildren Catherine Pigot Elizabeth Pigot Mary Pigot Ann Pigot Martha Pigot and Hannah Pigot, daughters of my said daughter, equally to be divided among them

Item I give and bequeath unto the said Catherine Pigot Elizabeth Pigot Mary Pigot Ann Pigot Martha Pigot and Hannah Pigot to each and every one of them the sume of Fifty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto them ad every one of them by my said Executor to their severall and respective ages of one and twenty yeares or shall severally and respectively be married which shall first happen

And my mind and will is that my Executor shall pay unto them severall yearly and every yeare lawfull interest for their several and respective Fifty pounds from the time they shall attain to their severall and respective ages of one and twenty yeares or be severally and respectively married which shall first happen

And my mind and will is that if any of them the said Catherine, Elizabeth, Mary, Ann. Martha or Hannah Pigot doe die and depart this life before they shall attain to their severall and respective ages of one and twenty yeares or severall and respective marriages which shall first happen, that then the said Fifty pounds so given as aforesaid to the said daughters or daughter shall be equally divided amongst the surviving sisters

Item I give to my honoured and most dear Brother Robert Hollis of Kingstone upon Hull Esquire the sume of five pounds of lawfull money of England
Item I give to my Sister Mrs. Mary Hall of the same Towne Widow the sume of five pounds of lawfull money of England
Item to her son Mr. Joseph Hall of Nettleton, Clerk, my Nephew twenty shillings to buy him a Ring to wear in remembrance of me

Item I give to my Sister Mrs. Martha Bishop of Lincolne, widow, the summ of Five pounds [of] lawfull money of England
Item to her son Thomas Bishop my nephew twenty shillings to buy a ring in remembrance of me
Item I give to her daughter Mary Bishop my neece twenty shillings to buy a ring in remembrance of me
Item I give to my Sister Mrs. Hanna Hollis, Spinster, the summ of Five pounds [of] lawfull money of England

Item I give to Mrs. Ellen Drinkwater, wife to Mr. Richard Drinkwater, the summ of Five pounds [of] lawfull money of England
Item to Mr. Richard Drinkwater my brother in law twenty shillings to buy a ring in remembrance of me
Item I give to my Sister Mrs. Dorothy Westaby, the summ of Five pounds [of] lawfull money of England
Item to Mr. William Westaby my brother in law twenty shillings to buy a ring in remembrance of me

Item I give to the three Children of my Sister Westaby to her son ______ Westaby twenty shillings and to her daughter Elizabeth Westaby twenty shillings and to her daughter Dorothy Westaby twenty shillings

all which said severall and respective legacies given as aforesaid to the said Robert Hollis, Mary Hall, Joseph Hall, Martha Bishop, Thomas Bishop, Mary Bishop, Hannah Hollis, Ellen Drinkwater, Richard Drinkwater, Dorothy Westaby, William Westaby, _____ Westaby, Elisabeth Westaby & Dorothy Westaby, I will shall be paid by my Executrix unto them and each of them respectively within one yeare next after my decease if they be then living

Item I give to the poore of the parish where I shall die forty shillings to be given and distributed at the discretion of my Executor

All the rest and residue of my estate goods and chattells whatsoever, my debts legacies and funerall expences first paid, I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved son in law Mr. John Pigot of Barham in the County of Kent Clerke, whom I do ordaine and constitute sole executor of this my last will and Testament in full hopes and assurance of his secure performance of this my last will and Testament attending to my true intent and meaning expressed in these p�sents

Notes:
Elizabeth Cook was buried at St. Giles, Barham on 12th February 1693/4.
No idea which Thomas she was married to � there isn�t one buried in the right time-frame in Bobbing or at St. Faith under St. Paul, London....
Grandchildren:
Richard Piggott was christened at St. Peter, Sandwich on 19th November 1682 to Mr. John Pigot and Elizabeth his wife.
Hollis Pigott was christened a St. Vincent, Littlebourne on 26th November 1690 to �Mr. John Pigot, Clerk and Elizabeth his Wife�.
Catherine Pigot�s christening is not found.
Elizabeth Pigot was christened on 6th July 1684; Mary Pigot 2 Apr 1686; Martha Pigot 24 Aug 1688; all at St. Peter, Sandwich.
Anne Pigot was christened 10th July 1687 at St. Mary the Virgin, Sandwich.
Hannah Pigot was christened 29th Jun2 1693 at St. John the Baptist, Barham.
Annoyingly, the marriage of daughter Elizabeth to Rev. John Pigot is not found.
