In the Name of God Amen
I Elizabeth Cook of St. John Hospitall in the City of Canterbury Widow being of sound Memory and Understanding do make and ordain this to be my last will and Testament in manner and form following
First I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God hopeing to obtain pardon for all my Sins and my Body (I) committ to the Earth to be decently buried by the discression of my Executrixes hereafter names And as to my Worldly Estate I give and dispose of as follows

Item I give to my two Executrixes hereafter named the Sum of One pound one shilling each of them for their trouble in Executing of this my Will
I Also give to Elizabeth Cheall the Younger Two Silver Tea Spoons
I Also give to Elizabeth Royder Two Silver Tea Spoons

I Also give to Thomas Rover and his Brother Charles Rover Each of them the Sum of One pound one shilling they bringing [up] Rurs? children
I also give to Sarah Roger Servant to Thomas Rover (as before mentioned) my Case of Draws which are now in my Low Room

I also give to my Daughter Elizabeth Pope part of my wearing Apparell (that is to say) Two of my Oldest Gowns with the petty coats thereunto belonging and six of my oldest Shifts & Six Hankerchiefs & four Oldest aprons and all my Shooes & Stocking, all which Leagiceys as above mentioned shall be paid & delivered within one month after my Decease

My Will is that my Two Executrixes shall as soon as I am decently buried in the Chappel Churchyard, Sett a hansome Headstone at my Grave
And as soon as proper time will admitt Sell and dispose of all my Honoral [General?] goods and Wearing Apparell (Except as before devised) and also shall Receive all monies that shall be due to me Either by Bonds or Notes of Hand or any other due to me at my death and a true & perfect Inventory shall be given for the same
And the money arising therefrom after my just Debts are paid and my Funerall Charges and the Charges of proving of this my Will and all things appertaining thereto are fully discharged the remainder shall be paid of the Money into the hands of William Rigden of the City of Canterbury Brewer for the nowe as is hereafter mentioned (that is to say)

I give one Third part of the money that shall be paid by my Executrixes into the hands of the said Wm. Rigden in manner following unto my Daughter Elizabeth Pope the Sum of Two Shillings every week from the day of my death untill the Third part is fully paid but if the said Elizabeth Pope shall depart this life before all the said Money should be paid my Will is that One Guinea shall be allowed towards a Coffin for her and the Remainder of her said Money to be paid unto James Cook & Richard Cooke share and share alike

Also I give an other third part of the Money paid into the hands of William Rigden unto my Son James Cook who is now abroad but if he do not return to England and make a Lawfull demand of the same within Five years after my Death then his third part shall be paid to his Brother Richard Cook

Also I give an other third part of the Money paid into the hands of William Rigden unto my Son Richard Cook to be paid him Six Months after my decease
and my Will is that a proper receit (sic) given by the said William Rigden unto my Executrixes for all the Money they shall pay into his hands on account of this my Will should be a final discharge of their Executorship

And lastly I do nominate and appoint my Friends Elizabeth Jagger and Elizabeth Cheall the Elder to be whole & sole Executrixes of this my Will And I do make void all former Wills by me made and do declare this to be my Last Will & Testament being on one Sheet of Paper

In witness hereof I have Sett my hand and Seal dated this 15th day of November in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and Sixty Six

Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Elizabeth Cook to be her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence & at her request have subscribed our Names as Witnesses

The before registered Will of Elizabeth Cook deceased was proved the Eighth day of February 1768 before the Reverend John Tucker Clerk Surrogate to the Worshipful Andrew Cocke Durannt Doctor of Laws Commissary General of the City and Diocese of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oaths of Elizabeth Jagger ad Elizabeth Cheall the Elder the Executrixes named in the said Will they being first sworn duly to perform the same

Notes:
Elizabeth Cook was buried at St. Mildred, Canterbury on 6th Feb 1768.
Robert Cook pre-deceased Elizabeth and was buried at St. Nicholas, Thanington on 15th April 1752.
Robert Cook married Elizabeth Page of Harbledown on 14th April 1707 at SS Cosmos & Damian, Blean.

26-Nov 1710 Elizabeth (at Harbledown)
08-Dec 1712 Mary at St. Nicholas, Thanington (Canterbury)

Daughter Elizabeth Cook married John Pope 6 Sep 1737 at St. Mildred, Canterbury.
