I Jane Cook of the Town and Borough of Deal in the County of Kent Widow being mindful of my mortality do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and Form following
First and principally I Recommend my Soul to God that gave it And my Body I commit to the Earth of which it now first framed to be Decently Interred at the Discretion of my Executors hereinafter named And as for the Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give and dispose thereof as followeth (that is to say)

First I Give and Devise All that my Messuage or Tenement with the Outhouses Buildings Land and Appurtenances thereunto belonging Situate lying and being in Deal aforesaid late in the Tenure or Occupation of Thomas Norris or his assigns And now of Thomas Redman or his assigns unto my only Son Andrew Cook of Deal aforesaid Pilot and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever

Also I Give and Bequeath All and every my Leasehold Tenements or Dwelling Houses with the Outhouses Ground and Appurtenances to them belonging situate lying and being in Deal aforesaid Unto my said Son Andrew Cook his Executors Administrators and Assigns

And I also Give to my Son Andrew Cook my Silver Tankard commonly called the Bird Tankard and the bed he usually lies on with the Furniture belonging to it

Also I Give and Bequeath the bed and furniture of my best Chamber And also my Second best Silver Tankard unto my only Daughter Mary Cook of Deal aforesaid Spinster And [I] do also Give and Bequeath unto my said Daughter All the Ready Money which I shall leave at the time of my Death Together with all Sum and Sums of Money as I shall leave then placed out at Interest or any Security or Securities whatsoever And all other Debts Sum or Sums of money as shall be due and owing to me on any Account whatsoever

And as to all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Goods Chattels Effects and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what kind or Nature soever the same shall exist and be at the Time of y Decease (after Deduction of my Funeral Expences the Legacies hereby given and Debts by me owing) I do give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said Two Children Andrew Cook and Mary Cook equally to be Divided between them share and share alike

And I make constitute and appoint my said Children Andrew Cook and Mary Cook Executors of this my last Will and Testament

And lastly I revoke and make void all former Wills by me made
In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my Hand and Seal the Third day of October in the Twenty first Year of the Reign of his present Majesty King George the second And in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Forty seven

Signed sealed Published and Declared by the said Jane Cook for and as her last Will and Testament in the Presence of us Who have Subscribed our Names as Witnesses in the presence and at her request

The before Registered Will of Jane Cook deceased was proved the Third Day of September 1774 before the Reverend George Hearne Clk [Clerk] Surrogate to the Worshipful Andrew Collee Ducarel Doctor of Laws Commissary General of the City and Diocese of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Andrew Cook one of the Executors named in the said Will He being first sworn well and truly to perform the same etc. Power being reserved to the other Exor. [Executor]

Notes:
Jane Cook, Widow, Deal Dated 3rd October 1747 who died and is buried at St. Leonard, Deal on 22nd June 1748
Richard Cook married Jane Teale 28th August 1704 at St. Leonard, Deal, by Licence.
He: Bachelor, Seaman; She: Spinster; both otp. He could be the Richard Cook, s. of Richard and Sarah, christened at Woodnesborough 2nd May 1675. All other possible Richard�s in the vicinity appear to have been accounted for � died or married elsewhere.

Richard and Jane Cook had 2 children, both christened at St. Leonard:
1. 29th June 1705 Andrew (who was bu. there 3 Aug 1775, aged 70). Andrew Cook could have married 7th Sep 1737 at St. Clement, Sandwich to Eleanor Knight, Widow. He is listed as a �Sojourner� (traveller). On 5th Jan 1751, they had a daughter Mary there, posthumously christened.
2. 15th Dec 1706 Mary
