In the Name of God Amen
I Mitchell Cook of the Borough of Quinborough [Queenborough, Isle of Sheppey] in the County of Kent Gentleman being in good health of body and of sound and perfect mind memory and understanding (praised be Almighty God for the same) and considering the uncertain continuance of this mortal life and the many hazards and dangers that we frail beings are dayly liable and incident to and being willing and desirous of settling my Worldly affairs whilst I have strength and capacity so to do, do make and publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)
First and principally of all I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it me in all humble hopes and with a firm assurance of its future happiness as in the disposal of a being infinitely good and my Body commit to the Earth where God shall be pleased to take my life to be decently Interred at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named

and as to such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me
I give devise and bequeath all and every my Freehold and Leasehold Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments parts and shares of Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments situate lying and being within the said Borough of Quinborough or elsewhere within the Kingdom of Great Britain unto my Loving Wife Sarah her Heirs Executors Admors. [Administrators] and Assigns for ever

And all and every my Goods Chattels Rights Credits Ready Money Securities for Money Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind sort or quality soever the same shall be and consist of at the time of my decease (from and after payment thereout of all and every my just debts Funeral expences the charges of proving this my last Will and Testament and other incident Charges and Expences) I Give and bequeath unto my said loving Wife Sarah her Executors Administrators and Assigns

I hereby make name institute and appoint my said loving Wife Sarah Sole Executrix of tis my said last Will and Testament And I hereby revoke annul and make void all former Will and Wills and other Testamentary dispositions by me at any time heretofore made and I do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Mitchell Cook the Testator contained in one sheet of paper set and affixed my hand and seal this thirty first day of March in the Twenty seventh Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc. And in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty seven

Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said Mitchell Cooke the Testator to the Testator to be his last Will and Testament in the Presence of us the Witnesses hereunder written who have at his request and in presence and in the presence of each other hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses to the due Execution of this his said last Will and Testament

This Will was proved at London the twentieth day of May in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five before the Worshipful William Baltine Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of The Right Honorable Sir William Wynne Knight also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Sarah Cook Widow the relict of the deceased and Sole Executrix named in the Will to whom Administration was granted of all and Singular the Goods Chattes and Credits of the deceased having been first Sworn duly to Administer

Notes:
Mitchell Cook died on 29th April 1795 aged 54 and was buried at Holy Trinity, Queenborough, Isle of Sheppey, on 5th May 1795.
Mitchell Cook, Bachelor and Sarah Chambers, Spinster, both of this Parish, were married on 29th August 1771. Witnesses: John Hayward Chambers, Anna Chambers, at Holy Trinity, Queenborough.
