In dei noie amen [In the name of God Amen] In the xth daye of the moneth of deacembre [December] in the yere of our Lord God [1518]
I Richard Coppyn of the pishe [parish] of Saynt Lawrence in the isle of Thanett (and the County of Kent) beyng of hole mynde and yn good memory ordayne and make this my present testament yn this manr
First I bequeith my Soule to Almyghty God and to our blessed lady Saynt Mary and to all the hooly companyge yn hevyn My body to be buried yn the chuche yard of Saynt Lawrence aforesaid

Also I bequeith to the highe aulter of the same churche for my offeryng and privy tithes necligently forgotyn iiijd [4 pence]
Also I bequeith to the repation [reparation] of the forsaid churche of Saynt Lawrence xijd [12 pence]
Also I bequeith to the light of the blessed trynytie [Trinity] ijd [2 pence]
Also I bequeith to the light of Saynt James that I am brother of iiijd
Also I bequeith to the light of Saynt Lawrence ijd
Also I bequeith to the light of Saynt Michaell ijd

Also I Will that my executors shall & for the Sowle of my father and mother and for the sowle of Johane Coppyn my first Wife iij masses
Also I will that my forsaid executors shal give every good fridaie [Friday] the value of iiijd yn brede the space of ij of ij yeres next after my deceasse

Also I bequeith to Thomas Coppyn and Richard Coppyn every of theym xxd [20 pence]
Also I bequeith to Alice Botsam vjd [6 pence]
Also I bequeith to John Marteyt [Martin?] two youngest children ijd
Also I bequeith to Robt. Curlyng iij children iijd

Also I Will that my executors shal dispose for the Welth of my soule and all crsten [Christian] Sowlis [Souls] yn the churche aforesaid a dirigecrsten and ij massis at my furthfare [funeral]
Also at my monythis [months] mynde a dirige and iij massys Also at my yeris mynde a dirige and iij massis

The Residew of all my moveable goodis afore notbequeithyd [not bequeathed] my detts and bequests fulfilled and payed I give and bequeithe to Agnes my Wife

I make and ordayne myne executors John Marten and Robt. Curlyng and every of theym to have for their labours viijd

This is the last Will of me the said Richard Coppyn made the daye and yere abovesaid of all my landes and tenements lieng and beyng yn the parishe of Saynt Lawrence yn the Ile of Thannet Or ellis Wher [elsewhere] Withyn the Cownty of Kent yn the Whiche Stephyn Starre and Richard Golian [Julian?] of the same pyshe [parish] be ynfeoffed [enffeofed] to fullfill this my last Will first

I Will that my feffers forsaid Immediatly after my decesse shall sell my howse at Rammysgate [Ramsgate] with the garden and an acre of land to hym that Will buyld upon the said garden The mone therof received to paye my detts and my bequeths

And the Residew of the money I give to I give to Agnes my Wife

Also I Will that my said feffers shall suffre Agnes my Wife to have and ocupie ij acres of land lieng yn the dane (for the) terme of her life and Immediatly after deaesse [decease] of Agnes my Wife I Will that my feffers forsad or their assygnes shalsell [shall sell] the said ij acres of land lieng yn the dane

The money therof reasvid [received] to be disposed yn iij partis [parts]:
the first parte yn dirige and massis Withyn the said Churche
the second part to the reparation [repairs] of the churche aforesaid
and the third parte to mende Fowle Wayes betwen my howse that now I dwell yn and Ramysgate
Wher as it semythe [seemeth] most nede by the discretion of my executors
