In the Name of God Amen The xxijth [22nd] daye of October In the yeare of our Lord God a thowsand fyve hundrethe Seventy and one
I John Coppyn the elder of the paryshe of St. Lawrence within thile [the Isle] of Thanett (and County of Kent), beinge of god mynde and perfett remembrance, doe make and ordayne this my psente [present] Testament & Last will in manner and forme followinge (That is to saye)
Fyrst I bequethe my Sowle unto all mightye God my maker and Redeamer
And my bodye to be buryed in the churche yarde of St. Laurence aforesayd

Item I will unto the poore mens Boxe of St. Laurence aforesayd a xijd
Item I will unto Katheryn Wytt xlty shillings [40 shillings] To be payed in the daye of her marryage or at thage [the age] of eightene yeares
Item I will unto Gilan Bennett my Daughters daughter a xxs [20 shillings] in the daye of her marryage or at the age of xvijne [18] yeares

The resydue of all my goods moveables unbequethed my dettes and legacies First satysfyed contented and payd I wholye gyve and bequeathe unto Alyce my wyef which Alyce I make my sole Executrixe of this psente Testament and last wyll

As touchinge the disposycyon (of) all my landes and Tenements that I have wtin thile of Thanett or ells where I will them wholye unto Alyce my wyef for terme of her lyef, She keapynge all manner of reparatyons wynde tyghte and water tighte And that she shall neither stripe nor wast dureynge her terme

And after her decease I will yt wholye unto John Bennett my daughters sonne and to his heyres for ever
And if the sayd John Bennett dye within age or without heyres of his bodye lawfully begotten Then I will all my sayde howsies and lands shall remayne unto Grace Bennett his syster and her heyres for ever

Wyttnes of this my present Testament and last wyll Thomas Stone & Wyllyam Mattras with others
