Will of Thomas Corke

In the Name of God Amen
I Thomas Corke of the Parish of Staplehurst in the County of Kent Carpenter being of sound disposing mind and memory, blessed be God for the same, do this sixteenth day of July in the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty five make and publish this my last Will and Testament in the following manner and form (that is to say)

First I give to Elizabeth Willer Widow of Cranbrook in Kent daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Bramley of the same place the sum of ten pounds to be paid her at the time of my decease by my Executors hereafter named, she being to me first cousin

I also give unto Sarah Smith daughter of Joseph and Sarah Smith of Staplehurst in Kent the sum of five pounds to be paid her by my Executors hereafter named when she come to the age of twenty one years

And I also give to Elizabeth Hickmott * of Marden in Kent Cousin whose maiden name was Elizabeth Corke the sum of fifteen pounds to be paid her at the time of my decease by my Executors hereafter named

And also all the rest of my Worldly Estate wherewith I am blessed with after paying all necessary expences and just debts I give and bequeath unto Richard Hubbard and Nanny his Wife of Boughton Monchelsea in the County of Kent and to their heirs for their own sole use and property (that is to say)

First I give all my Note of hand for money and all my bills and book debts and all my household goods and all other property belonging to me at the time of my decease of what kind soever except what is before mentioned and given

and I do constitute and appoint Richard Hubbard and Nanny his Wife of Boughton Monchelsea in the County of Kent sole Executors of this my last will and Testament ratifying and confirming this my last will and Testament disannulling all others by me before made

In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Corke have to this my last will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written

Signed sealed and delivered by the said Thomas Corke as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who were present at the signing and sealing thereof

Proved at London 5th March 1831 before the Worshipful Jesse Addams Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the oath of Richard Hubbard one of the Executors to whom administration was granted being first sworn duly to administer, power reserved of making the like grant to Nanny Hubbard (wife of the said Richard Hubbard) the other Executor when he (she!) shall apply for the same.

* Elizabeth Cork married Thomas Hickmott on 2nd December 1824 by Banns at St. Michael and All Angels, Marden. Witnesses were: David Stanley and William Harris.
