William Coveney of Marden, Yeoman, will dated 20 July 1636
My body to be buried accordinge to the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named
6s 8d to the pore people of Marden

I give unto my sonne in law Thomas Danne and Anne his wife all those my goodes and householdstuffe which is now within the house where my sayd sonne Thomas Danne and Anne his wife now dwelleth : and also all those husbandry tooles & wagons ---- and all other tooles and utensilles without the dore whatsoever, and also all his tithes : Only I reserve unto my selfe and to and for mine Executrix all that Corne, stocke and land which I now occupy and also I reservene that landes which Walter Gorham occupieth for the payment of my just debts and legacies unto mine Executrix until the feast of St Michaell the Archangell next cominge

Item I give unto my daughter Anne her two children to every of them one silver spoone apeece.

Item I will give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Coveney �100 of English mony to be payd unto her by mine Executrix at two severall payments as followeth. The first payment of �50 to be within one quarter of the yeare after my decease payd unto her. And the second payment to be made of �50 of like mony of England unto her the sayd Mary within the next quarter following the first quarter before mencioned.

And if it shall please god that my Landlord, Sir William Acton, Knight, shall renew my sayd lease in the name of Dorothy my wife, or in any other name appointed by her or her assignes, then I will that my sayd Executrix shall pay accompte to be payd above the �100 before bequeathed and given within one halfe yeare after the renewinge of the sayd lease the summe of �50 more, that is to saye, that my Executrix shall pay �25 of it to my daughter Anne and �25 to my daughter Mary

Also I give unto my daughter Mary Coveney halfe my housholdstuffe and one Cow and ---?

Item I give unto Peter Coveney my kinsman the tithes of 4 or 5 Acres of wheat more or lesse in the occupation of John Holliman and also the tithes of his oats which now lieth in Edward Simons his land and also the tithes of Nicholas Dennis his wheate and I will that my ----ieng shall fetch -- -- them in the parsonage borne for him severally;

All the rest of my goodes and Chattells as also the lease of the Parsonage (my debts, legacies and funeral expense discharged) I will give and bequeath unto Dorothy my wife whom I make and ordeine to be my sole and whole executrix of this my last will and Testament

And I doe intreat my lovinge Frindes vizt John Wood, Clerke and Edward Simions yeoman to be my true and trusty overseers and Assistants to my Executrix and children in this my last will and testament named and to devide at there discretion the goodes before bequeathed
