Will of Robert Coveney

of New Romney, Kent

I give and bequeath unto the Child or children now being in the wombe of my said wife male or female the summe of �300 pounds
If it shall happen my said wife to have issue male of my body, then I will that my executor to paie the said �300 at his or their ages of 21, and if such issue be female at her or their age of 16 yeares

Provided always and upon condicion that my wives father Mr William Clarke doe become bound unto George Coveney my Executor hereafter named, within one month after my decease in the penall summe of �200 (which hee hath promised to doe) condicioned to paie unto my executor uppon the birth of the child or children nowe in the wombe of my said wife as aforesaid the summe of �100 for and to the sole use and benefit of my said child or children at their several ages as is before lymitted by my executor

Provided allsoe that my said wives father Mr William Clarke doe cancel or cause to be cancelled presently upon my decease one obligacion of �200 whom I am bound unto my said wives father condicioned that I should leave my said wife the summe of �100 at the time of my decease

And further my will and meaning is that my said executor out of the profit and interest of the said �300 and also out of the interest & benefit of the �100 to bee paid by my said father to my executor as aforesaid, that my executor shall paie or cause to be paid yearely and everie yeare the summe of �24 unto my said wife towards the educacion and bringing upp of my said child or children from the day of the birth of the said child or children until hee, shee or they shall accomplish their severall ages as aforesaid

And if it shall happen that my said wife att this present bee not with child or shall happen to dye before their severall ages aforesaid, then my will and meaning is and I doe in such case give and bequeath unto my said wife the summe of �150 upon condicion that the bond of �200 last mencioned be cancelled

And alsoe that my said executor shall repay unto my said wives father, his executors, administrators or assignes, the said �100 within 3 months next after the decease of my child or children

Alsoe that if my said wife bee not with child or the said child or children dye before their severall ages aforesaid, then I will and bequeath unto my brother Richard Coveney the sum of �30 and to my sister Jane Coveney the sum of �20

And I make my brother George Coveney my full and sole executor of this my last will and Testament
