Elizabeth Coveney of All Hallows, Canterbury, Widow, will dated 13 Sep 1658
My body to be buryed in such decent and Christian manner as to my Executor hereafter named shall bee thought meet and convenient

Item I give and bequeath to Mary Spaine my loveinge sister, the wife of Augustine Spaine of Elham, my small Brasse pott and my best silke scarfe
Item I give and bequeath unto Margaret Spaine my loveinge kinswoman, the daughter of the said Augustine Spaine, my Childebedd sheetes

Item I bequeath to Cicily Johnson, my kinswoman, the wife of John Johnson of Barham, my best redd cloath Petticoate
The remainder of all my wearringe Apparrell I will and bequeath to my 3 sisters, namely Elizabeth Apleton, the said Marie Spaine and Dorothy Coveney, to be equally devided between them

The residue of all my goods and Chattells, readie money, debts, Creditts and housholdstuffe whatsoever, I give and bequeath to John my sonne

And my Will and meaninge is And I doe hereby appoint the sayd John Johnson my loveinge and faithfull frend and kinsman, with all convenient speed after my decease, to make sale of all and singuler my housholdstuffe (hereby not perticulerly bequeathed) and wholely to imploy and dispose of all the monyes thereby raised; And alsoe shall other monye whatsoever is myne or any way due and oweinge to me att the tyme of my decease (To witt, �40 in the hands of my Brother Augustine Spaine) and other money in my owne hands, to the best benefit, good and advantage he can or may until my said Sonne John shall accomplish and attayne to his full age of 21 yeares
To which said sonne I doe then give all my Estate whatsoever
And with the profitt of my Esstate doe desire my said Executor to bring upp and Educate my said Sonne

And if it shall happen the said John my sonne to depart this life before hee hall attayne to his compleate age of 21 yeares; Then my will & meaninge is that his portion shall bee bestowed in manner and forme followinge (that is to say)

�10 to Thomas Rolfe my brother
�10 to Miles Johnson my kinsman, sonne of the aforesaid John Johnson
10 shillings a peece to the children of Timothy Coveney my brother, namely John, Roger, Susan, Jane, Elizabeth and Mary, to be payd them within 6 months next ensuinge the decease of my said sonne as aforesaid

The residue of all my goods and Chattells and money whatsoever then remayninge of the portion of my said Sonne, I give and bequeath to my Executor hereinafter named, to bee by him given and disposed of to such of my kindred as hee shall think fitt to bee paid within 6 months after the decease of the said John my sonne

And I doe nominate and hereby appoint, make and ordaine the sayd John Johnson the whole & sole Executor of this my last will and Testament to whome I bequeath 20 shillings of lawfull money of England in Token of my love and Thankfullnesse for his care and good affection to bee had in the behalfe of the said John my Sonne, and due performance of this my will

And lastly I give and bequeath to the sayd Augustine Spaine, my loveinge brother 5 shillings in Token of my affection, And I desire him as Overseer of this my will to helpe and assist my said Executor in what he may conveniently for the better performance thereof.

In witnesse whereof I the said Elizabeth Coveney, my proper hand and seale to this my Will and Testament have set the day and yeare first above written 1658 Elizabeth Coveney her marke
Signed, sealed, published and declared by the abovenamed Elizabeth Coveney to bee her last Will and Testament in the presence of
John Farrance, his marke & Edward Elvye
