First I make my loveing Friend John Beale of Maidstone aforesaid gent. my Executor
Item I give unto John Witherden my sonne in Law five shillings
Item I give unto Elizabeth my now wife (over and above her joynture) the summe of
Three Pounds a yeare of lawfull English money to be paid unto her halfe yearely duringe
her life to be received out of the Rents of my house with th�appurtnances in Milton
And if default happen to be made in payment thereof that it shall be lawfull for my said wife
or her assignes to enter into the said house and enjoy the same and the proffitts thereof
untill she shall be paid the same and all the arrerages thereof untill she shall be paid the
same and all the costs and charges about them
Item I give the said messuage with the apputenances (charged w�th the said three pounds
p� ann. As aforesaid) unto Hester Witherden my grandchild daughter of the said John
Witherden and unto the heirs of her body lawfully begotten
And for want of such issue unto Stephen Dan my brother for life
And after his decease to my cousen William Dan and the heirs of his body
And for want of such issue to my right heires forever
Item I doe appoynt and authorize my said Executor to sell for the best value he can my house with th�appurtnances in Maidstone (the which is charged with my wives Joynture being seaven pounds p� ann. duringe her life) and therewithall and with the rest of my personal estate to pay my debts and Legacies and to bestow Tenn pounds upon my Funerall and defray such charges as he shall be putt unto about this my will & Executorshippe and out of the overplus (if it will rise) to my sister Mildred Cheese twenty shillings p� ann duringe her life half yearely to be paid
And the remainder of my said goods and vallue of the said house f.. as aforesaid to be
sold to be given to my said grandchild Hester Witherden only
to my said Executor his pains I give forty shillings
and unto my loveing Friend Mr Michaell Beaver tenn shillings

This Will was proved at London before the Judges for probate of wills and granteinge Administration lawfully authorized the Fifteenth day of May in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred and fifty eight By the oath of John Beale the sole Executor named in the Will To whom was Committed Administration of all and Singular the Goods Chattells and debts of the said deceased he being first sworne by Commission well and truly to Administer.
