In the Name of God Amen I James Dan of Maidstone being of sound memory and understanding praised be God for it do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say

I give and bequeath all that my interest and share of and in the Capital or Joint Stock of three per cent consolidated Bank Annuities being two hundred and fifty pounds Now standing in my name in the Books of the Bank of England
I also give and bequeath all the interest of that hundred pound South Sea Old Annuities left me by my Cousin Richard Hartrup of Westerham in Kent at the decease of Elizabeth Plumbley if it shall become due in the life time of my wife Margaret Dan [to my wife Margaret Dan?]

And after her decease I give unto my son Richard Dan all the money I shall be possessed of in the stocks or Bank of England or South Sea Old Annuities or whatsoever I shall or wheresoever be possessed of

I likewise give and bequeath unto my son Richard Dan all my household goods of what sort and kind soever as plate china linen and woollen and all the puter tables chairs all and whatsoever is in the house of what denomination whatsoever to him and his heirs for ever after the death of my wife Margaret Dan.

And I so will and empower my wife Margaret Dan to take out Fifty pounds Stock if need require
And I do here nominate and appoint my wife Margaret Dan and my son Richard Dan Joint and sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament revoking all former Wills by me made I declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said James Dan have set my hand and seal this twenty eighth day of January in the year of our Lord Christ One thousand seven hundred and eighty three � James Dan � Signed sealed published and declared by the said James Dan the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto

This Will was proved at London the thirteenth day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety nine before .....
of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Richard Dan otherwise Dann the son of the deceased and the surviving Executor named in the said Will to whom Administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased was granted having been first sworn duly to Administer (by Commission)
